Chelsea announcement made confirming Belgian has made summer move!

CHELSEA goalkeeper Mike Penders has joined Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan, the Blues have now officially confirmed on the club website.

The Blues posted: Signed by the Blues from Genk in August 2024, Penders spent the remainder of last season with the Belgian club, making 26 first-team appearances. He also received a call up to Belgium’s Under-21 squad.The 19-year-old joined up with the Blues ahead of the Club World Cup and was part of our squad that went on to lift the trophy Stateside.

Penders is a great young talent – but at the end of the day he is another player that the club do not need right now – his move to Chelsea was probably a waste of £17 million as he ha barely featured for the club

CHELSEA fans are surely wondering what the hell is going on because there has been no point in the Blues signing all these young talents, loaning them out for the next few seasons and not really making any money.

Penders is one for the future but already carries a stellar reputation, even drawing comparisons to former Chelsea ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois, so it is a shame that he will be sent out on loan once again as he cannot get a chance at Chelsea.

The lad needs to think about his long-term future as we have seen far too many talents make that move to Stamford Bridge over the seasons and not get any game time, he needs to think about whether he wants to keep spending the next few years out on loan.
