Pedro Neto thriving – Tom Smith completes move – Arsenal working on Saliba deal in Arsenal news of the day –

Wolves forward Pedro Neto says he is thriving off the swelling interest in him – with Arsenal reportedly keen on a transfer deal

Mikel Arteta has been able to spend some serious money this transfer window on signings that have already made a huge impact at the Emirates – and his side now look like real top four contenders

However – that will not stop him from trying to get a few more players to the club by the end of the transfer window – and now Neto is on the shopping list of ArsenalFC

Neto is one of the top young talents in the Premier League and a player that all the big clubs were ready to make a move for – before he picked up that serious injury that kept him out for most of last season

And amid all the speculation regarding his future he has admitted that he is loving the rumours and speculation: “I always like to hear this sort of stuff but I’m focused on my job here because I’m feeling very good here,” he said to The Times in the summer, before Arsenal had declared an interest.

“The things you hear makes you work even more, it’s good for you and your mentality to know that people know your value. It gives me more hunger to work harder.”

Neto is Premier League proven – is a brilliant talent and is definitely worth that £50 million price tag – so he would be a great signing for Gunners if they manage to get a deal done

He would bring something different to that side – and that is what Mikel Arteta wants – so if there is a chance to get the man – the Gunners board should make sure that it gets done

But we are not sure that ArsenalFC will pay £50 million for the player after spending so much cash this transfer window already

Saliba deal being worked on –

Arsenal are ‘keen’ for William Saliba to commit his long-term future to the club – according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Saliba was signed by ArsenalFC a few seasons ago – but was never given a chance to shine – instead got sent out on loan a couple of times until the Gunners believed he was ready

But after a very impressive season with Marseille last season – he was finally brought back to the Emirates and promised the chance to make an impact in the first team – and he has been very good since his return

In Pre-season he looked quality – but the games against Crystal Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth showed fans why he was voted the best player in French football last season – and has got many excited by just how far he could go in the game

Now – amid all the speculation and all the rumours – Taylor believes the Gunners are desperate to fend off interest from Marseille and Barcelona ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.

When asked whether he feels Arsenal want to negotiate an improved deal with Saliba, Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: “I do, yes. There’s been mixed reports on this but, from what I understand, Arsenal are actively keen to tie him down to a new contract.

“I think he’s only got two years left now and it’s clear there’s interest in him from elsewhere, not only Marseille – a club that he spent time on loan at – but Barcelona as well.”

Saliba is a brilliantly gifted young talent and yes does deserve that new deal

We are sure that ArsenalFC will move quickly to give Saliba that deal – big clubs are keeping a very close eye

He is happy and playing right now at the Emirates – but he has already showed a desire to leave the club in search of Champions League football – so if those other clubs come calling – he may well be very tempted

Smith delighted with move –

Arsenal starlet Tom Smith has admitted his delight after officially joining Bromley on loan for the season

He’s previously spent time with Salisbury, Dover Athletic and Welling United – and recently signed a new contract with the Gunners in May but heads to south London to gain further experience of senior football.

Arsenal announced on the club website: ‘Tom spent last season on loan with National League South side, Welling United and finished the campaign by signing a new contract with us in May 2022.

‘We wish Tom all the best for his loan spell at Bromley and look forward to seeing his continued development.

‘The loan is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

On signing for Bromley, Smith said: “I’m really excited, the boys are great, I’ve met everyone today, already know the gaffer and the goalie coach.

“It’s a good set-up here and I’m really excited.

He added: “I’d like to think I’ve got a good balance between what you’d call a modern-day keeper, being good with your feet and playing short all the time, as well as being an orthodox keeper, keeping the ball out of the net, making big saves, throwing your body where noone else wants to go at people’s feet.”

This is a very good move for the young man to make as it will give him the experience that he needs to help with his development – so Arsenal will be keeping a close eye on his performances and will see if he is improving like they would hope for
