Arsenal news: £72M star can still get transfer move he wants this september!

It has been claimed that Nicolas Pepe still has an opportunity to leave Arsenal this September.

Pepe scored 27 goals in 112 appearances in his three seasons at ARSENAL but struggled to make an impact in his final campaign under Mikel Arteta.  The Ivory Coast international was allowed to leave Arsenal last summer as he joined Nice on loan for the full season.

Pepe enjoyed a decent season with the French giants – but was plagued by injuries over the last few months of the season which hindered his game time in Ligue 1 – and his ability to score the goals he was at the beginning of the season.

He has been the recipient of limited transfer interest over the course of a summer during which he was left out of Arsenal’s pre-season tour and asked to train away from the first team squad, and has now been left in limbo after failing to secure a move away.

WHAT IS THE LATEST – 

The Gunners still need to recoup some cash after spending more than £200m on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Timber, and the Saudi Pro League looks like their last hope after failing to shift the winger before September 1.

Turkey is also an option for Pepe, with Super Lig clubs able to make signings until September 8.

Arsenal know they will not be able to recover much of the £72m spent on the 28-year-old in 2019.

Pepe came to ARSENAL with all the talent and all the quality to make an impact, but he couldn’t handle the pressure of playing for a big club, he never really gave 100 per cent and was just a massive waste of money.

His career is pretty much over at the top level and it will be interesting to see what happens with him next as a move away from the top Leagues seems to be the best option.

A move to Saudi Arabia would give him the chance to earn some big cash while getting to play every week – but it seems that they are not really interested in a potential deal.
