£80M attacker tells board he wants Arsenal transfer deal to get done in summer!

ARSENAL winger Nicolas Pepe is open to staying at Nice for another season, according to reports in France.

After making a real name for himself in the French Ligue 1 – the Arsenal board made the massive decision to splash £80 million to bring Pepe to the Premier League.

Pepe scored 27 goals in 112 appearances in his three seasons at Arsenal but struggled to make an impact in his final campaign under Mikel Arteta.  The Ivory Coast international was allowed to leave Arsenal last summer as he joined Nice on loan for the full season.

Pepe has enjoyed a decent season with the French giants – but has been plagued by injuries over the past few months which has himdered his game time in Ligue 1 – and his ability to score the goals he was at the beginning of the season.

Nice do not have an option to buy Pepe at the end of the season and according to L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 side have not made a final decision as to whether they want to keep the winger for another year.

But the report claims that Pepe is open to the idea of remaining at Nice and has told the board that he would like to stay.

If Pepe went back to ARSENAL at the end of the season – he would find himself sitting on the bench and watching his career pass him by. He needs that move away from the club.

If Nice can get a good deal for the man then the best thing would be for him to stay put – there is no point re-joining Mikel Arteta’s squad as he is a player that no longer has a future at the Emirates.
