New West Ham sriker Lucas Perez has sent a classy message to Arsenal fans after completing his deadline day move away from the Emirates.

Signed by the Gunners back in 2016 for £17 million, Perez was expected to do big things at the Emirates after Impressing for Deportivo La Coruna, and was tipped to be a thirty goal a season striker.

But he failed to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Premier League and only managed 7 goals in his first season with the club, before being shipped out in the 2017/18 season by Wenger.

It appeared as if new Arsenal boss Unai Emery would give the centre-forward a second chance as he included him in the pre-season tour of Singapore but the Spaniard ultimately moved to West Ham.

And after his move, he sent the Gunners this message via his Twitter account: ‘Today I would like to thank Arsenal fans for their support, they always showed me affection and love from the first time I arrived in London.

‘I also want to give my thanks to my teammates and to the staff of this club for giving me the opportunity to make my debut in one of the best leagues in the world and win the FA Cup.

‘I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you can go and achieve great things.’

Although the Gunners did not take to the Spaniard and despite the fact he failed to live upto his £17 million price tag, fans will surely appreciate his departing message as many players do not appreciate their former clubs when they leave.
