Emmanuel Petit has urged Arsenal fans to have patience with summer signing Kai Havertz.

Havertz was the shock signing of the summer for Mikel Arteta after the decision was made by Chelsea that he would be allowed to depart the club after another disappointing season at Stamford Bridge.

He only managed seven goals for the Blues, despite playing the majority of games and leading that Chelsea attack on a weekly basis, but Arteta believed that he could get the very best out of the German.

However – Havertz has really struggled at the beginning of this new Premier League season and looks like a man that is struggling to compete at the very highest level of the game, which has got many Arsenal fans wondering why he was signed.

But former ARSENAL star Petit has opened up and told fans to give Havertz time to adjust to being an Arsenal player and suggests that the German star will come good for the club over the years.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

He told BettingSites.co.uk: “Football is crazy now and a club that spends £70m on a player may not even be playing him anymore, and they could sell him. I wasn’t surprised that Chelsea wanted to sell him.

“Arsenal need to be patient but I’m pretty sure he will be a hit with Arsenal. He was struggling at the start of the season and against Crystal Palace, he was lost at times on the pitch and wasn’t sure of his movements. I still believe that with the way he plays up front, he needs to improve his understanding with his new teammates.

“I believe he must improve his personality and character because he has quality. He was suffering over what happened with Chelsea last season but he was the best goalscorer for Chelsea last season. He has to fight against his own personality and character.”

We still cant understand why Arsenal sign Kai Havertz, he has all the ability but is just unable to use it in the Premier League.

ARSENAL fans will probably give him time, just like they did with Nicolas Pepe, but it seems that he will be another waste of money going by his performances already this season.

But maybe he will come back better after the International break?
