Arteta told Prem star will be a good signing for Arsenal, Will Arsenal fans welcome Frenchman?, Petit has message Auba needs to see!

Guys here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer news from over the past 24 hours.

Dejan Lovren could be a good signing for Arsenal to bolster their defence, according to pundit Kevin Phillips.

There is no secret in the media that the Arsenal defence needs work on during the summer window and boss Mikel Arteta needs to spend some serious money bringing in the type of players that will make a difference to the side.

Arsenal have been lacking a leader, a winner and a top-class player that is able to lead that back-line, they have too many average players that have been letting the side down now for years and that has led to all sorts of speculation about possible summer signings, with Lovren on the list.

The Croatia international is being linked with a potential move away from Liverpool FC in the summer transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Anfield, as the ageing star behind Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip despite getting some first-team appearances under his belt due to injuries to the Dutch defender’s centre-half partners this term.

Lovren struggled badly in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 loss to relegation candidates Watford at Vicarage Road last month to cast doubt on his long-term future at Liverpool FC, but despite his unimpressive performances, Former Sunderland striker Phillips believes Lovren could be a good addition to the Gunners team.

“Lovren has been a good player at Southampton and Liverpool,” Phillips is quoted as saying by THE DAILY EXPRESS

“He has probably not played as much football as he would like so he might be thinking it is time to move on. Tottenham, defensively, have got some frailties. It is an area that Jose will be looking at.

“You cannot go far wrong when you are looking at a player like that who is experienced in the Premier League and has played at the top level.

“He has experienced high-pressure situations so it could turn out to be a good signing. You look at David Luiz at Arsenal, he’s like him, these players can be picked up.

“I am not saying he is at the end of his career but his best years are behind him. I think that could be a really good signing for two or three years.”

Arsenal are among a host of clubs to have been offered Samuel Umtiti ahead of the upcoming transfer window, but is he worth it?

With Mikel Arteta looking to spend some serious money during the summer transfer window, there was some speculation in the media that the Spanish boss is seeking to add some world class defenders to his squad, with Umtiti high up on the shopping list.

Arsenal may be ninth in the Premier League, but they have already shipped 51 goals this season and there is a big need for Arteta to delve into that transfer kitty to try and bring in a top-class defender.

A knee injury, which required surgery, saw the Frenchman lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet last season, and reports suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club for the right amount of money.

And Spanish outlet Sport have revealed Umtiti is available as part of a fire sale as they look to recoup £118m in transfer fees when the window opens.

Arsenal do have alot of money to spend, but do not like to spend it and they will only make a move to try and sign Umtiti in the summer if he is valued at the right price, which will be around the £25 million mark for the Arsenal.

Manchester United are also said to have been handed the chance to acquire the World Cup winner, and reports suggest that they are willing to go as high as £45-£50 million to try and acquire a deal for Umtiti.

Look, a few years ago Umtiti was one of the best defenders in Europe and was tipped to be a real star at the Camp Nou, but there is a reason why he is being sold by the Spanish giants and there is a feeling that he is done at the top level.

If Arsenal are keen to sign a new defender, maybe he is not the man for them as he is not the type of player that will come in and improve the defence, especially if he is injured on a weekly basis

Emmanuel Petit has been discussing his and Philippe Coutinho’s regret at joining Barcelona, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should take notice.

There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few weeks that this season will be the last that Auba spends at the Emirates, that he wants the kind of money that Arsenal do not want to pay and that he is now ready to make the move to La Liga and sign with the Spanish giants.

However, in a recent interview with the Daily Mirror, Petit has admitted that he regrets leaving Arsenal for Barcelona when they were on the cusp of something great, and after seeing Philippe Coutinho also fail in his quest over at the Camp Nou, he has shared his thoughts about that big, REGRETFUL, move to Spain

“If I was Philippe Coutinho, every morning I would wake up and think to myself, ‘Why, why, did I sign [for Barcelona] in Spain?’” Petit PETIT TOLD THE DAILY MIRROR

“And do you know why I say this? Because, I can remember the time when I’d wake up, when I was at Barcelona, when I left Arsenal, and I was thinking the same way, ‘Why did I leave? Why did I leave? Why did I leave?’”

“And to be honest with you I am sure Coutinho has been asking himself the same question for a while now. He left for Bayern Munich, he does sometimes play well but he’s not really a first-team player.”

Petit and Coutinho were at the very top of their game when they decided to make the moves to Barcelona, but it never quite worked out and although Aubameyang is keen on a move to La liga, he needs to seriously think about his next move.

He is getting good money in London, he is scoring goals in the best League in the game and is playing at the top of his game, if he leaves for Barcelona, it could not work out, especially as there are so many big-time player with big-time egos at the Nou Camp.

Auba should take note of the words of Petit.
