Deadline Day deal done – Chelsea OFFICIALLY announce transfer move made!
Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg – the Blues have announced on the club website on deadline day.
After making the move to the Premier League last season – Petrovic enjoyed a decent season at Stamford Bridge – but didnt really make the impact that many had hoped for.
Chelsea have once again been very active in the transfer market this summer and added a few stoppers to the side, most noticeably Filip Jorgensen, meaning that Petrovic has fallen further down the pecking order at Chelsea.
Strasbourg have been given alot of players over the past few months from Chelsea and now they have completed another loan deal after Petrovic made the move to Ligue 1 on deadline day
The Blues posted: ‘Djordje joined the Blues last summer from New England Revolution and made 31 appearances, including a start in the Carabao Cup final, during his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
‘The 24-year-old will now continue his development in the French top flight. We look forward to supporting and monitoring Djordje throughout his loan spell.
‘Good luck, Djordje!’
According to reporter Iomie Stanley – CHELSEA letting the lad leave on loan is a great decision: ‘Chelsea had one of the worst defences in the Premier League last season, they were awful.
‘Petrovic wanted to make a bigger impact at the club – but all the big clubs have quality stoppers apart from CHELSEA – the Blues board brought in Jorgensen hoping that he can make a big impact, forgetting about Petrovic.
‘Petrovic probably does not want the move to Strasbourg – but he will take it as it will give him the chance to play some games.’
