Paredes offer, Monster Piatek claim, Hazard stunner, Baily contact, Higuain update in Chelsea news and gossip
Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation.
Chelsea are now reportedly confident of sealing a deal for Zenit St.Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes, after sibmitting a £31.2 million offer for the midfielder.
With Cesc Fabregas now at Monaco and Mauriizio Sarri desperate to improve the midfield this month, speculation in the media has suggested the Italian boss is seeking to complete a deal for Cagliari star Nicolo Barella or a deal for Paredes.
But with Cagliari announcing that their star man was going nowhere this month, Chelsea have now focused all theri attentions on the signing of Paredes, and have gone back in with a second offer after their £27 million offer was rejected at the weekend.
And now the Evening Standard report that Chelsea have returned with a bid worth over £31m and hope to close the deal for Paredes, but know they may have to submit a third offer as the Russians value the midfielder at around £36 million.
Zenit are in no hurry to sell their star and will hold out until Chelsea match their valuation, as they know Sarri is desperate to add two players this January.
Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has claimed Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is “waiting” for Real Madrid to make a move to sign him.
Hazard has been in sensational form for Chelsea this season and has been the standout performer for Maurizio Sarri, who has started to use the Belgian as his front-man in recent weeks.
But despite the fact Chelsea are ready to hand him a massive contract to sign, the 28-year-old has refused to commit his future to the Premier League club, despite having just over a year left on his current deal.
And that has led to a lot of speculation which has suggested Madrid may consider this summer the perfect moment to reignite their interest in the Belgium captain, after missing out on a £150 million move last summer.
And according to Terreur, Hazard is waiting for Madrid to make an offer before deciding on a new deal.
“He has rejected two contract offers so far and says that he doesn’t want to sign right now. That means he is waiting for something and that something means just one thing, Real Madrid,” Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Real Madrid are still interested as far as I know, but they are still yet to make their move. They don’t have a personal agreement with him at this point, they don’t have an agreement with Chelsea and they haven’t even made the phone call like they did last summer.”
“When they called last summer, Marina Granovskaia said that he wasn’t for sale and Real respected that.
“But they might come back in again as they need to strengthen their squad after this season and it is easier to get players with just over a year left on a contract.”
AC MIlan boss Grennaro Gattuso has admittind that Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain has not asked to leave the club.
With Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri desperate to add a world class striker to his front-line, there has been alot of speculation in the media which have suggested that Higuain is the man the Italian wants.
Higuain had his most successful season under Sarri, breaking the Serie A goalscoring record with 36 goals in the 2015/16 campaign, and is reportedly keen to link-up with his former coach suggestions in the media have claimed.
And reports even suggested that he is all set to sign for the club, with Gattuso even admitting that their star striker has made up his mind about leaving the club during this transfer window.
But Now Gattuso has hinted that Higuain will stay at the Italian giants.
Gattuso was quoted on the Sky Sports website: “There are lots of rumors concerning @G_Higuain but he’s relaxed, training well with his teammates and working hard.
“@G_Higuain is always smiling and joking with his teammates. Probably something changed after the penalty missed and the red card against Juve.
“I want to stress the fact that Gonzalo has never come to me to tell me he wants to leave”
The agent of Leon Bailey has claimed Chelsea have been in contact about a possible transfer move.
The 21-year-old is one of the most promising young forwards in Europe and was wanted by several top clubs in the summer after having another impressive campaign for the Germans.
Chelsea seemed to show the most interest in trying to nail down a deal for Bailey though, and reportedly made and offer during the summer transfer window to try and bring him to the Premier League in a deal that could have been close to the £100 million mark.
The Blues know that star man Eden Hazard is keen to leave for Real Madrid and are preparing for life after the Belgian, having already sealed a deal to bring Christian Pulisic to the Premier League at the end of the season.
And Craig Butler, Bailey’s agent and stepfather, claimed that after a frustrating start to the season, Chelsea had asked about the player’s situation at Leverkusen.
‘I am very happy that this change has come about. Leon did not develop under Heiko Herrlich,’ he told SportBild.
‘For Leon it is very important that he enjoys football, he lives alone in Germany, the family is in Jamaica, and if Leon does not have fun, it kills him.
‘Top clubs have come forward, Real and Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Roma, and in recent months they have been surprised that Leon plays so seldom, wondering why a top league player like him is suddenly sitting on the bench.’
Genoa director Giorgio Perinetti has claimed it will take a monster offer to let go of Chelsea and AC Milan transfer target Krzysztof Piatek.
Piatek is currently taking world football by storm after starting the season in stunning fashion, scoring thirteen goals in Seria A and putting in a number of stunning performances that now makes him one of the hottest transfer targets out there.
And one club that is extremely interested in a deal is Chelsea, according to reports, as boss Maurizio Sarri is not happy with his front-line and is desperate to add that goal-scorer to the squad which would help Eden Hazard out, and also make them serious Championship contenders.
However, in recent weeks they have switched their attentions to Gonzalo Higuain, who seemingly wants the move to Stamford Bridge and that has meant that Milan are now keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Piatek.
But Chelsea have been boosted by the news of a transfer deal in the summer, after Perinetti reiterated his will to keep the player at the Stadio Ferraris this month.
He was quoted on the Calciomercato website: “For now there have only been surveys, there has been no offer and nothing serious.
“If we receive a monster offer, then we will evaluate what to do. But for now, I repeat, nothing has arrived, nor do we have any need to sell Piatek.”
