Mauricio Pochettino confirms ‘we will inform’ when Chelsea January deal is done!
Mauricio Pochettino has pretty much confirmed that Ian Maatsen will be leaving Chelsea for Borussia Dortmund on loan this month.
After an impressive pre-season with the Blues, Mauricio Pochettino gave the young man some much needed game time in the early stages of the season, and gave him an opportunity to prove himself.
However – over the past few months the Dutchman has found it really hard to get the minutes that he had been hoping for and has spent much of his time watching from the sidelines.
That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that he may look to leave CHELSEA in the January window, either on loan or on a permanent basis, as he seeks to take his career to that next level.
Maatsen has been limited to just 201 minutes in the Premier League and will be hoping to earn regular game time at Borussia Dortmund, with Pochettino confirming that the defender could soon be on the move from CHELSEA
“Well I think it’s obvious that of course he’s not here because he’s in negotiations with [Dortmund],” the Chelsea boss said, after his side’s defeat to Middlesbrough in their Carabao Cup tie. “When something happens, the club will inform.”
Maatsen enjoyed a successful loan at Burnley last season as they were promoted back to the Premier League, notching four goals and six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

If the reports are true and Maatsen is seeking a move away from the club in the January window, it will be a very wise decision from the lad to make as he needs the minutes to improve and develop.
There are so many players at CHELSEA, so many options for Mauricio Pochettino and that is why some of the younger stars are being forgotten about.
But as we said, it will be a wise decision to look for a move that will give him more minutes.
