Pochettino says £300k-a-week star ‘will have say’ if Chelsea transfer deal happens!
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says Raheem Sterling will have a say on whether he stays at the club this summer.
The 29-year-old has had a tough time at Stamford Bridge following his move from Manchester City in 2022 and has not always featured under Pochettino this season, starting 21 of the 36 Premier League games so far.
That has led to alot of speculation in the media over the past few months that he is one player that the board are very much open to letting depart the club at the end of the season, especially as they want to get his £300k-a-week wages off the books.
But he climbed off the bench after recent injury and illness to score an equaliser in the Blues’ 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday and asked about Sterling’s future at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino said: “I talk about all the players, all the players have contracts next season.
“Thiago (Silva) has announced he is leaving but all the players who have contracts are going to be there and always it is two parts, the club and the player that needs to decide for the future.
“It’s a good season for him, he has scored and assisted many goals if you compare with last season. I think he has improved a lot this season, if you compare with last season.”

Sterling has been disappointing since his move to London and looks nothing like the player he was at Man City and Liverpool – his best days are far behind him.
CHELSEA have a vision and he is certainly not part of that long-term plan – so we are fully expecting a few offers to be considered for the winger at the end of the season – it is probably about time that he leaves.
He does not do the job he was signed for – and rather than keeping him – cash in and get some money for the attacker.
