Pochettino told £70M star ‘is perfect midfielder’ for Chelsea
Incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino has been told that the signing of Southampton star James Ward-Prowse is the perfect midfield signing for CHELSEA
The Blues done some wonderful transfer business during the transfer window – signed some players that have already made an impact on the side
Ward-Prowse was a player that the club were heavily linked with during the summer window – and many believed that he could end up at Stamford Bridge- but the Saints did not want to sell their star man and he did not want to ask for a move
But now – Journalist Iomie Stanley has come out and claimed that Ward-Prowse could be that midfield signing that Pochettino is missing in the centre of the pitch
He told IcFootballnews “I think they just missed that one player who links the defence with the attack and can play either the ball over the top or play that first pass out to release a runner.
“That Ruben Neves kind of player would have been perfect – or James Ward Prowse.
“I think their midfield, it doesn’t look weak, it just looks like they have a lot of players who are quite similar. So I think it lacks balance.”
‘There is a big feeling that Chelsea were one or two signings away from being Premier League title contenders – but if they did sign JWP – he would have been a brilliant signing
‘We cant believe that he is not at a big club – he should be – and CHELSEA would have been a brilliant place for him to be.
‘So with all the players that could be arriving in the summer transfer window – Ward-Prowse would be a brilliant addition to most squads.
‘And he could be a bargain too.’
