Pochettino tells board he wants £70M valued star signed for Chelsea
Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants Chelsea to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford in the January transfer window.
CHELSEA have spent some serious money over the last couple of transfer windows – but have not got a striker that has the ability to net 20-30 goals a season.
That has led to many reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are very much interested in a deal for Ivan Toney – who has had an amazing season in the Premier League this campaign.
Only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane have more goals that the England striker last season – 21 – and it is believed that all the big clubs are ready to pay big money in order to get a deal done.
Chelsea were linked with the striker in the summer window, but opted to splash most of their cash on players that they believe will take the club forward over the next five, six or seven years.
However, According to London World, “Toney is Pochettino’s ideal choice as he is English, at the right age and proven in the Premier League”.

Brentford have had such a brilliant season – but they could lose a number of players in the transfer window.
So many of the stars are ready for that next step in his career – and Toney is a man that is made for the big teams.
He has been out of action for some time, he cannot play until half way through January and is only able to start training this month, so there will be alot of questions about whether or not he will be worth buying in January.
But the man is a goal-scorer, he is proven in the Premier League and is certainly a player that the wingers at CHELSEA can feed off, if Pochettino wants Toney signed, the board should make sure that happens.
