Positive Emery transfer message, Shock Rodriguez offer submitted in Arsenal Monday News and gossip
Here is the daily roundup of the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from IcFootballnews.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is hopeful Arsenal will bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window.
Emery has enjoyed a very good start to life at the Emirates and has seen his signings thrive in their first few months of the season, but there is alot of criticism of the back-line with many believing that it is not good enough for Arsenal to compete for the Premier League title.
And that has led to speculation that Emery will be given funds this transfer window to sign a world class defender that can come in and solidfy the back-line, with a whole host of players linked with the club.
After the 3-0 FA Cup third-round win over Blackpool at the weekend, Emery admitted he is hopeful that a few signing s arrive at the club, telling the Sky Sports website: “I think the club is working for the possibility to take some players who can help us during these next four months.
“Maybe the transfer market can help us with a centre-back, but it is not easy because also (Konstantinos) Mavropanos is coming back after injury. Also a winger, right or left, one player can help us in this position.”
Shock reports have claimed Arsenal have had a £63 million offer accepted for Liverpool and Manchester United target James Rodriguez.
Real Madrid star Rodriguez, who is currenly on a two-year loan spell with Bayern Munich’ is reportedly not keen on rejoing the Spanish giants at the end of the season after reigniting his career at Bayern, and his considering his options.
Both Liverpool and United have long been linked with a move for the Colombian International, but with both clubs looking to improve in other areas of the squad, that has reportedly left Arsenal boss Unai Emery with a free run to try and sign him up.
And according to reports on the Daily Mirror website, the Gunners have had a £63m offer accepted for the Colombia international, as they seek an immediete replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey.
It is no secret that Ramsey is all set to sign a big five-year deal with Italian giants Juventus, and with rumours also circling about the long-term future of Mesut Ozil, Emery knows he needs to splash the cash and land a ‘world class’ replacement for Ramsey, and even Ozil.
Rodriguez has enjoyed a good spell in the Bundesliga and is looking to stay put or test himself in the Premier League.
