Possible £60m signing ‘exactly what Arsenal need’ board told, Arsenal told to hand Lacazette new contract, Gunners target told to leave Man United
Arsenal get Van De Beek boost, Arsenal sent Isak message and Lacazette deserves new deal in Arsenal roundup…
Paddy Kenny has urged Arsenal to give Alexandre Lacazette a new deal because he has been in fine form recently
Lacazette is a man that has been in the headlines alot over the past few months as there has been alot of speculation ion the media that he will not be getting a new contract at the Emirates
The Gunners have banished Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from their first team and have also stripped him of their captaincy, and In his absence, Lacazette has worn the armband and has contributed to the Gunners’ return to form in recent weeks.
Kenny believes he has done enough to earn a new contract and one should be handed to him before it is too late.
He tells Football Insider: “But I think the club should make Lacazette a very attractive offer to stay at the club considering his vital role over the last few weeks.
“He’s a top player, we know this. I don’t think he should have been out of the team in the first place.
“I think a new deal is only fair. He’s out of contract in the summer so that needs to be sorted before it’ too late.”
Lacazette is a player that only really starts to shine when he is in need of a new contract, and once again, that is happening. He is never going to be a striker that will bang in 20 goals a seasons, and to be honest, he is just taking up space
If he gets that new contract likes Mills expects, then it will e a shame because it is about time that Arsenal step up their chase to sign a striker that can lead them back into challenging for that Premier League title
Not stick with one that just makes up the numbers
Alexander Isak is exactly what Arsenal need, the Gunners board have been told.
It is no secret that Mikel Arteta will need to add a new striker to the squad over the course of the January window, as Alexandre Lacazette cannot find the net on a weekly basis, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
That means that the door is open for Arsenal to bring in a new striker and there has been many reports in the media which have claimed that Isak is a man that the Arsenal board would like to sign this transfer window.
Isak has scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Sociedad so far this season, after impressing for Sweden in last summer’s European Championships, and has been heavily linked with a big money move to Barcelona.
Now, amid the Arsenal speculation, Campbell has come out and told the board to make a move for the big man: ‘Isak is exactly what Arsenal need,’ Campbell told the Football Insider
‘But I think they could do with another one. When you think about Aubameyang, Lacazette, and Nketiah – they’re on the way out, their days are numbered at the club.
‘So you’re probably looking at bringing in two new strikers, minimum, whether that’s this month or in the summer.’
Isak is a very talented striker and it is easy to see just why some of the biggest clubs in Europe are all eyeing up a potential deal. But the Gunners fans wants to see a striker arrive that will net 20 goals a season and not ten.
Isak has many more years of developing to do, so right now, he is probably not the striker that Arsenal need to get them challenging for that Premier League title once again.
But he would be a good long-term signing to back-up a number one hitman
Dutch football journalist Elko Born has claimed that Donny Van De Beek does not suit Manchester United, with rumours Arsenal are interested in a potential deal.
Van De Beek was a big money buy in the summer transfer window after establishing himself as one of the most creative players in Europe with Ajax, but since his move to Manchester, he has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the side.
There has been so much said about him at United, but there have also been some reports in the media which have claimed that Arsenal are keeping a close eye and may make a move should the Dutchman decide he wants to leave Old Trafford.
And amid all the speculation, Born has had his say on the situation of Van De Beek: “Many people in the Netherlands were surprised to see Van de Beek has not been able to play much for Man Utd so far,” he told Sky Sports News.
“What we are seeing here is further proof that the demands put on players in the Premier League are very different from the demands put on players in the Eredivisie.
“Van de Beek did very well at Ajax in their title-winning side who won the league and went close in the Champions League as well in 2019, but in a very specific team, playing a very specific type of football.
“And it is not a way of football that fits the way Man Utd play, or teams in the Premier League play generally. Perhaps the style of football in the Premier League is a lot more physical than the style of football played at Ajax.
“And apparently first Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now Ralf Rangnick see things in training they do not like and so far it has not worked out at all for Van de Beek at United.”
