ARSENAL are preparing to open contract negotiations with midfielder Thomas Partey after both the club and the Ghanaian international turned down a potential move to Saudi Arabia during the summer transfer window.
Partey’s current deal is due to expire in 2025 and discussions over a possible extension at the Emirates did not happen over the summer as many believed that he would get that move away from the Premier League giants.
The Ghana international was limited in his starts for the club last season because of injury, and there were mane reports that Arsenal were deciding whether to cash in on the player in the summer or risk losing him on a free transfer in just over a year’s time.
But according to TBR Football – it seems that now the Gunners board have made the decision to hand the powerful midfielder a new contract.
He is expected to be offered a two-year contract extension, which would keep him at the Emirates until the age of 33. Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff are reportedly strong supporters of Partey and are eager to keep him as a key part of their squad as they continue to challenge for Premier League success.

When Partey is fit – he is a very solid addition to that squad – but he is never fit anymore and the Gunners need to get rid.
If the right offer arrives in the January window ARSENAL FC should take it – and use those funds to add a striker to the attack as they will need to keep on improving that squad if they are to overtake Man City for that Premier League title.
He has a good start to the new season – but alot of Gunners fans will know that will not last – he will pick up and injury sooner rather than later
VLAHOVIC PRICE SET –
There has been some fresh reports which have suggested that ARSENAL may be in with a chance of landing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer window, if they want to sign a striker.
A report from Fichajes has revealed the asking price that Juventus have set for any teams thinking of moving for the forward in the January window, giving a potential green light to a move.
The Italian side are said to have put a €100million price tag on Vlahovic’s head which could ‘complicate’ any move for the Serbian international in the January window. The report adds that this price could decrease as the player’s contract ticks down as the club do not want to risk seeing him leave for a vastly reduced sum over the next year.
Reporter Iomie Stanley recently claimed he could be a great signing for Arsenal: “Vlahovic was a name hugely linked in connection with signing for the Gunners in 2022 and has been regularly named in transfer windows since.
“Having scored 44 goals in 109 Serie A games for Fiorentina, he decided instead to make a £66.6million move to Juventus over Arsenal and is once again banging in the goals on a weekly basis.
“Juventus are under no pressure to sell the striker in the coming transfer window – but if there is an offer that they simply cannot refuse – then we are sure that he will go for less than that 100 million valuation.’
‘Vlahovic is a very good striker that could be a very good signing for ARSENAL – he is one of a number of options for Mikel Arteta – he could be a very good signing for the right price that is for sure.’
RUDIGER WANTS SALIBA –
Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger has suggested he wants his current club to raid ARSENAL and try to sign William Saliba from the Gunners in the coming transfer windows.
The Frenchman has established himself as a key player and regular under manager Mikel Arteta over the last two campaigns, playing a crucial role in their last two campaigns as they finished second behind Manchester City in the Premier League table.
He is one of the big reasons why Arsenal have been so defensively good over the past few seasons, and his partnership with Gabriel is arguably one of the very best in the Premier League and maybe even the Champions League.
There was some speculation that both Real Madrid and PSG were keen on trying to sign the Frenchman in the January window, but Arsenal do not want him to leave, and the player himself has no desire to depart the Emirates right now.
However – despite this – Rudiger has suggested he wants his current club to raid Arsenal and try to sign William Saliba: “To have Saliba would be great and if he continues to do what he does…” the former Chelsea star said on The Inside Scoop.
“I don’t scare nobody (Arsenal fans) but at the end of the day, it is clear, if he does what he does…”

We are sure that Madrid will try and tempt ARSENAL into selling Saliba one day and the defender may even be interested in making that move to La Liga – but for now – he is happy and is not leaving the club.
But if Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for Rudiger – there is not many better out there that Saliba that is for sure.
