Powerhouse signing will add character to Arsenal squad, ;egend admits ‘id love to see Zaha at Arsenal, Arteta confirms defender to be at Arsenal by end of window,, Grealish claim made
Grealish claim made, Arsenal should sign Costa, legend wants Zaha at Arsenal and Arteta makes Mustafi claim in Arsenal roundup…
Mikel Arteta should look no further than Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish to help Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang get back to his goal scoring best.
After a stunning first season in the Premier League, Grealish was linked with all sorts of clubs over the summer transfer window, and many expected him to leave the Villians in search of superstardom.
However, he opted to stay at the club, and the decision was a right one as he has made an unbelievable start to the new season and is now one of the most creative players in the Premier League, with his performances linking him again with a big move.
Recent reports have claimed Arsenal remain keen on bringing Grealish to the Emirates, although his value has risen following his brilliant season so far for Villa – with his performances helping them to fifth in the Premier League table.
It is no secret that Mikel Arteta is looking to add a bit more creativity to this Gunners attack, and reports on the TalkSport website suggests the club know exactly what is missing and why they’re in the bottom half of the Premier League table with 18 games played.
“Service is so important for strikers, you need people putting balls into good areas you can run into.
“There’s been a little bit of a lack of that, but also confidence. His confidence levels are pretty low.”
Ray Parlour has admitted he would love to see Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha at the Arsenal.
Regarded as one of the finest wingers in the Premier League, Zaha was heavily linked with a transfer move to the Emirates just a few seasons ago, as then current boss Unai Emery, was eager to bolster his attack.
But despite all the rumours, despite all the speculation and despite the talk that Zaha was keen on a move to the Emirates, the Arsenal board made the strange decision to break the club record and bring Nicolas Pepe to the Premier League after one good season in France.
Zaha has gone on to re-establish himself in the Premier League, while Pepe has failed to impress many at the Arsenal, and Ex-Arsenal midfielder Parlour told Stadium Astro of a player that Mikel Arteta got another good look at during the 0-0 draw at Emirates Stadium on Thursday: “I’m sure Emery would have loved to have someone like Zaha but again it’s down to the board and money available, I don’t know what the situation was with the funds they had behind the scenes.
“Pepe, they did that in a staggered way, probably paying £15m a year, which suited the French side [Lille] as well where he came from.
“Probably Crystal Palace wanted the money up front, which Arsenal couldn’t have done at that time, because they need to replace him – if you lose your best player you need to replace him. The deal probably wasn’t right for Crystal Palace if Arsenal couldn’t pay it up front – but certainly he’s a real talent.
“When he’s running at you full pelt, I wouldn’t like to play against him as a defender!
“You know he makes things happen, he goes down, he gets free-kicks in good areas, he can get penalties at times. He’s a real talent. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see him in an Arsenal shirt.”
The potential signing of Diego Costa would add character to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has been told.
After news broke just a few weeks ago that Costa was free to leave Atletico Madrid this transfer window after having his contract terminated by the Spaniards, there has been alot of rumours that Mikel Arteta may be interested in a possible deal.
Despite their recent run of good form, Arsenal have been struggling for goals this season and there is a feeling that Arteta knows that he will need to add something different to get the best out of his attack.
And amid the interest that the former Chelsea star is still wanted at the Emirates, ex-Gunners ace William Gallas has opened up and told the Spanish boss that the signing of Cost would add a bit of character to the Arsenal attack.
The former defender told PlayOJO of Costa: “He would bring character to the squad. He just wants to win games.
“If his team-mate doesn’t play well, he will shout at them during the game and sometimes I think this is good. Sometimes, when I’m watching Arsenal, they don’t show any reaction when they concede, and someone like Costa will shout to the guys ‘Wake up!’, which can boost the players.
“If he comes to Arsenal, he will cause a lot of problems for defenders but it might also mean Alexandre Lacazette going on the bench again.”
Arsenal will not look to sell Shkodran Mustafi this month, Mikel Arteta has now told fans
Now we all know that Arsenal fans are getting excited about the possible players that will be making moves to the club over the next few weeks in order to give the side a much needed boost, but there are also alot of players linked with moves away from the club.
Mikel Arteta has a big squad and has alot of players that he no longer needs at the club, so before the Spaniard is able to bring in a few new faces to freshen up the squad, he is eager to offload the deadwood, with Mutsafi on the list of players that could leave
The German has made just three appearances in the Premier League this season and was free to leave after also falling down the pecking order at the club after failing to establish himself in the squad since his move from the Bundesliga.
But with William Saliba on loan and Sokratis on his way out, Mikel Arteta wants to keep the 28-year-old Mustafi for now and has admitted that the German ace will stay at the Emirates until the end of the season
“His future right now is here,” the manager said on TalkSport
“I’m trying to help. We have Papa that probably is going to leave the club in this window, William that has already gone on loan, so we don’t have that many right now.
“Gabriel’s been out now for a period, David [Luiz] has been injured, so the situation is completely different to before.”
It makes sense for the Arsenal to keep hold of Mustafi until the end of the season, and as long as he doesnt complain about game time, it will be ok.
