Prem boss issues clear message to Arteta about trying to sign £80 million midfielder for Arsenal this summer

Arsenal are interested in signing James Maddison this summer, but Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has sent out a clear message
Mikel Arteta had been keen to permanently sign Norway international Martin Odegaard this summer transfer window after he impressed at the club during his brief stay at the Emirates.
However, it is understood he will be remaining at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future as the Spanish giants are very keen to try and give him more chances in the first team this coming season.
And after the Gunners lost out to Aston Villa in the race to prise Emiliano Buedia away from Norwich, and then saw Dani Ceballos also leave the club and head back to the Bernabeu, the club have been eyeing up a number of possible signings.
But despite all the rumours which have suggested that Arsenal are ready to make a big move to pay £80 million and try to wrap up a deal for Maddison, Rodgers has opened up and reiterated the clubs desire to keep hold of Maddison
Rodgers said on TalkSport: “In conversations with the club, we don’t have to sell. That’s something that’s been made clear.
“The players want to stay. It’s a really exciting time at the club.
“There’s lots of gossip and speculation around but I’m loving working with the guys here, they love being here, and we certainly have no need to sell. So I would suspect we’re looking to keep our best players.”
Roundup…
Look, Maddison is a top class player that is worth alot of money, but despite the fact Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the game, they are not at the level they were justa a few seasons ago.
So unless he is offered some crazy money, and Leicester are offered some crazy money, we cannot see this happening
