Prem star will cost £60m for Arsenal to sign , Portuguese star tells Arsenal he is ready for move and Vlahovic deadline set
Vlahovic deadline set, Arsenal told Calvert-Lewin price and Sanches opens door to transfer deal in Arsenal roundup…
Reports have claimed that Everton will allow Arsenal target Dominic Calvert-Lewin to leave the club for £60 million.
Arsenal are set to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the season with Alexandre Lacazette’s contract set to expire, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club is in major doubt after he was stripped of the captaincy
That has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners would like to add Dusan Vlahovic to the attack, but with Fiorentina valuing the player much higher than what the Arsenal want to pay, they are not close to any sort of deal.
But with the fact that Mikel Arteta needs to add a new striker to the attack, there may be a chance to wrap up a transfer deal for Premier League star Calvert-Lewin this transfer window
Calvert-Lewin’s season has been dogged by injury but he is still seen as one of the brightest young English strikers around, and according to reports in the media, The Toffees will allow the big man to leave the club for a fee of £60 million
The Merseyside club have also considered selling England keeper Jordan Pickford but are now in talks with him about extending and increasing his contract.
Arsenal legend Lee Dixon recently opened up and admitted that he is hoping the club push to try and sign the powerful striker: ‘Would I like to see Calvert-Lewin at Arsenal? I think yes. I think you’d struggle to get one of the top, top strikers like [Erling] Haaland,’ Dixon told MailOnline.
‘It would be a step up for Calvert-Lewin, no disrespect to Everton.
‘I like him, I think he’s got potential to be as good as he wants to be. He is fit and athletic, he is strong and good in the air and a good finisher. I would take him.’
Calvert-lewin has the potential to play for one of the top clubs in the Premier League, and we could actually see him banging in quite a few goals in that Arsenal squad.
There is no doubt that Arteta is building something at the Arsenal and if the board want to challenge for that Premier League title once again, then big money signings are the way to go.
We are just not sure that DCL is the player to replace the likes of Aubameyang
Former Arsenal playmaker Paul Merson believes Arsenal ‘need’ to bring in a new striker, with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang unlikely to play for the club again as a deadline for the services of Dusan Vlahovic have been set
Vlahovic is under contract with the Viola until 2023 but is applying pressure on the Serie A outfit to sell by so far refusing to agree to an extension.
That has led the Gunners to submit an offer of £66m and make him their second-highest earner as they try to find a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as soon-to-be free agents Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.
But the north Londoners are also growing frustrated by the long-running saga and La Republicca reports they have demanded an answer from the striker by ‘halfway through next week
However, amid the speculation, Merson believes a forward needs to be recruited in to replace Aubameyang, who looks set to depart the club,, sooner rather than later.
He said: “You’ve got to get someone in. Arsenal need a centre forward badly next season. No [can’t see him playing again for Arsenal] not for me. I think Arteta has already laid that one out, he’s chopped his nose off there.
“He’s hung him out there to dry, it’s going to be some going by the lad to come back. It could do [impact top four hopes].
“Not saying Aubameyang is going to get them in the top four though but they do need a centre forward.
“Aubameyang on form could get them there. I always think pick your best players but what’s gone on between the pair of them the manager and him needs to be sorted out first.”
There has been many reports about the possible arrival of Vlahovic, so why are the Gunners taking so long to try and get a deal done when they need the player?
Renato Sanches has admitted he is ready to join Arsenal when the offer arrives
Now, we have spoken a number of times about the reports that Mikel Arteta is keen to delve into that transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad in order to get them back into winning that Premier League title
And that has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners boss will be backed in the transfer window, especially after the brilliant run they put together this season.
Sanches moved to Lille following a disappointing three-season spell at Bayern Munich where he struggled to live up to the hype as well as a number of injury problems
But he has impressed over in France has his performances has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners are very much interested in getting a transfer deal done this transfer window.
And now, amid the specilation, Lilles Renato Sanches, has made it very clear that he is ready and waiting for a deal to be done.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Sanches said: “Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know. I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling me but I can’t say right now. But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.”
Look, Sanches does have real quality that is just sitting there ready for his potential new manager to get out of him, and that is what Arteta could do.
The Gunners boss needs a player like the Portuguese International in the squad, so if the reports are true and Arsenal are interested in a transfer deal for the young man, he could be a very good signing for the club to sign in the next couple of windows
So even though Sanches has not fulfilled his true potential yet, there is no doubt about his ability, and he just needs the right manager to help him reach it
As we said, he could be a great signing, for the right money
