President confirms Arsenal wants attacker – Arsenal tipped to sign Spaniard – Maestro backed for Gunners move

A club president has claimed that Arsenal do in fact have an interest in signing Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz.

The Gunners have been linked with so many players over the past few months as many fans expected the Gunners to bring in a few quality players to add to the squad, but so far only David Raya has been signed by the club.

But it is widely expected that ARSENAL will look to add to that attack this transfer window – and Yilmaz is a player that has been linked with a move to the Emirates over the past few weeks after his impressive performances in the Euros 2024 for Turkey.

Now amid all the speculation – A club president has claimed that Arsenal do in fact have an interest in signing Yilmaz: “We have 20 percent of Baris Alper Yilmaz’s share but Galatasaray has not requested a meeting with us on this issue,” Keciorengucu president, Sedat Tahiroglu told Turkish news outlet Aksam. “I hear Liverpool and Arsenal want him but I know Nuri Sahin definitely wants him [at Dortmund].

“I don’t think the price will be €50 million (£42 million). He can be sold for around €30 million (£25 million).

“The path needs to be paved for young people for Turkish football. Hopefully, he will make the decision that is good for him.

“The money is not important. The important thing is for Baris Alper to go to a team where he will be successful because he will be the face of Turkey.”

Yilmaz showed that he needs space to work his magic at the Euros – he will not get that kind of space in the Premier League – so even if ARSENAL do want the player – he would only be an impact off the bench signing

OLMO CLAIM MADE – 

Paul Merson has heaped significant praise on Spain midfielder Dani Olmo amid transfer links to Arsenal.

The Gunners have thus far endured a relatively quiet summer window but that could kick into life shortly with talks ongoing for primary defensive target Riccardo Calafiori and a number of proposals also being submitted.

Links to Dani Olmo have also emerged again following his impressive displays at Euro 2024 with Spain, and it is no secret that Mikel Arteta would like to add the gifted Spanish star to his squad in the coming weeks.

He has a release clause of £52 million that will need to be activated by July 20th – but with that in mind, Merson has issued a glowing verdict on Olmo following his impact at Euro 2024.

“The touch to set himself up and the finish were top drawer,” Merson said on SportsKeeda. “I’m glad it didn’t go down as an own goal as Olmo deserves to be credited for that moment of brilliance.

“I think he’s been absolutely brilliant in the knockouts and he wasn’t even playing at the start of the tournament.

“Amazing footballer – you look around and think he would play for most sides across the continent.”

After the season that Olmo just had with RB Leipzig and then his performances at the Euros – it is easy to see why the Gunners have been linked with a move for the player.

NICO WILLIAMS TIPPED OR MOVE –

Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Petit has tipped his former side to sign Williams: “ARSENAL’s dream signing this summer would be Nico Williams,” Petit told bet365’s Euro 2024.

“I’ve been watching him in Spain with his club, but he has impressed me a lot during Euro 2024, especially against Italy. It was a nightmare for the right back. I think this guy could have a huge impact at Arsenal.”

However – Athletic Bilbao president Jon Uriarte has admitted the Spanish club are under no pressure to sell the winger this summer: “Nico is a footballer very committed to Athletic Club, who has been subjected to an excessive and uncontrolled bombardment of questions while at the Euro Cup. The Spanish Federation has not known how to protect him.

“Athletic aims for the maximum, without limits. We are showing that we have a winning project for footballers and coaches.

“We have renewed the contracts of players who are playing in the Euro Cup, such as Unai Simón or Dani Vivian, and coveted players such as Benat Prados, Oihan Sancet, Julen Aggirezabala or Aitor Paredes have also signed for several seasons, to give some examples.

“Athletic Club is economically, socially and sportingly capable of keeping footballers of the calibre of those named in its structure, including Nico Williams.”
