Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed…

Sporting president Varandas has been speaking on the future of Manchester United target Victor Gyokeres, and revealed whether the Sporting Lisbon forward will depart the club when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time

This season, he has already scored 23 goals in just 17 appearances, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants.

the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea are just three clubs that are reportedly ready to splash the cash and bring the in-demand striker to the Premier League, and it is looking much more likely that a transfer happens after the departure of Amorim.

Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, and there has been some suggestions that the striker may be open to the idea of leaving Sporting when the transfer window opens up in January.

But now Varandas has been speaking on the future of Chelsea target and is hoping that Gyokeres does not leave, on the striker he said: “I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he wants to go… he will go”. “But I do NOT think this will happen in January”, he added

Where Will Gyokeres Go?

There has been may clubs linked with the player and United are one of the sides that are willing to splash some serious money in order to get a transfer deal done, but so are Arsenal and Chelsea

Manchester United are favourites because that is where Amorim is, but it will all come down to money and who offers the most, but it is looking more and more likely that Gyokeres does come to the Premier League that is for sure.

CHILWELL DECISION MADE –

Manchester United have reportedly made a decision on potentially signing Chelsea outcast Ben Chilwell, as the defender looks set to leave the Blues this coming January transfer window as he is not wanted at the club.

Over the past few weeks there has been some speculation that Chelsea are very much open to the idea of letting Chilwell depart the club, with a move to Manchester United interested in a potential deal for the star.

He has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons and after impressing at the Euros  over the summer, Marc Cucurella is the man that Enzo Maresca has preferred in that left-back this season.

The Talksport website recently claimed that Manchester United were offered the chance to sign Chilwell in the summer transfer window, But the Old Trafford club opted “not” to act on the former Leicester City man’s availability as they were not sure about the future of Erik Ten Hag.

Now – it has been claimed that Man United have decided that they may make a fresh move for Chilwell in the January window to add some back-up in that left-back area, which has been a problem for the club for some time, and know that Chelsea are open to selling the England defender.

Enzo Maresca stated at the beginning of the season that Chilwell was free to leave Chelsea, but the defender was unable to get a very late summer transfer move away from the club.

When fit – Chilwell is a quality defender that could offer Man United alot – but Manchester United could just be signing a man plagued by injuries and that is a major issue.

So now that Ruben Amorim is at the club, he will take a look at what he has at the club and will make moves for players in January, especially if the Red Devils are unable to get back into that chase for a top four spot

NKUNKU MOVES MADE –

There has been some shock reports in the media this week which have claimed that Manchester United have contacted Chelsea over a potential deal for French attacker Christopher Nkunku ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

Since his move to Chelsea just a few transfer windows ago – Nkunku has really struggled with injuries at Chelsea and has been unable to make the kind of impact that many people had hoped for.

However – Nkunku is back fit and this season, he already has seven goals to his name in across all competitions, despite the fact he has been restricted to limited minutes in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca this campaign, which has led to alot of speculation in the media

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Nkunku may look for a move away from Chelsea, with PSG just one club that are reportedly very interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done for the player, but it seems he will not be leaving yet.

Manchester United have reportedly shown an interest in getting the player all signed up when the transfer window opens up, and According to a report from L’Equipe, United have made contact with the Blues over a potential deal for Nkunku in the January window.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID?

Pundit Dean Saunders recently claimed that he believes Nkunku is in a bit of a no-win situation at Stamford Bridge and may have to seek a future move away from the club: “It probably isn’t realistic for Villa to sign Curtis Jones or Harvey Elliott but I was trying to give an example. I’m looking at clubs who have really good players who aren’t getting a game,” Saunders told Bonus Code Bets.

“Chelsea, I’ve lost count of how many players they’ve got but they can’t all get in the team. They’re not only the best players in the country they’re from but they’re treated like the best ever from that country. They’ve also been the best players at the clubs they were at.

“They find it really difficult to sit on the bench for five or six games and not get a game. I’ve been a manager and this is where you start getting issues.”

He added: “It (issues) cropped up when they played in the League Cup [against Barrow]. Nkunku scored a hat-trick. The manager left Nicolas Jackson out of the team, he rested him and then he put Nkunku in who scored three. Then when Chelsea play on Sunday against Brighton, he has to call Nkunku in and say ‘I’m sorry, I’m leaving you out, I’m putting Nicolas Jackson back in’.

“At that moment, Nkunku knows no matter what I do, I’m not going to start in front of Jackson. With six games in, I can’t see a future at the club. As long as the manager keeps winning games, he’s got a bit of power. But if you lose two or three, players in that Chelsea dressing room all start getting a voice. That’s when they turn against you and that’s the problem when you have too many players.

“So, going back to your point. I’m sure there’s players at Chelsea that you could slide off of that. Arsenal are only paying a third of Raheem Sterling’s wages with Chelsea paying the rest. You probably can get a deal out of Chelsea right now.”
