Chelsea and PSG ‘to hold discussions’ over £60M transfer deal
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to hold further discussions over the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea at the end of the season, it has been claimed in the media today.
Chelsea made the big decision last summer window to bring back Lukaku to the club in a deal worth £98 million as Thomas Tuchel wanted to sign a proven top-class forward
Lukaku become the most deadly striker in Italian football and many fans were hoping that his arrival would bring goals, and along with that, more trophies to add to the cabinet.
However, that has not been the case and Lukaku has looked nothing like the man that dominated Serie A last season, and has even admitted that he simply cannot adapt to the style of play of Tuchel
And of course that has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that Chelsea would be very open to letting him leave the club and use the funds to sign Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski.
Reports recently claimed Lukaku has been in contact with Inter directors Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta trying to convince them to re-sign him from the Blues, but the Italians are not keen on a deal.
That has led to reports in the media that French giants PSG are now ready to swoop in -offer Chelsea some serious money- and take the powerful Belgian star to the club in the summer in a deal worth £60 million
There is also an understanding that Chelsea may need to take a significant hit on Lukaku, given that no club is likely to pay £97.5m to take him off their hands.
According to transfer insider Dean Jones, PSG are now set for ‘further discussions’ about signing Lukaku before the start of next season.
There has been far too many rumours in the media suggesting that Lukaku wants to leave the club to believe that he doesnt want to depart
But considering he has been brought to score goals and cant – the best thing is for him to actually depart the club right?
