£25 million rated Belgian defender Meunier has transfer message for Arsenal boss Emery
PSG star Thomas Meunier has now told the likes of Arsenal that he wants to stay with the French Champions.
With Arsenal looking to revamp the side in the coming transfer window and acquire some players that will help the side get back into winning the Premier League, there has been a lot of speculation about whom the Gunners could try and acquire.
And one name that has been linked with a possible move to the Emirates is that of Meunier, who is seen as the ideal back-up of replacement for Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin, who has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons.
The Belgian is in the final year of his contract and has been out of favour at the Ligue 1 champions this term, and recent reports claimed that Arsenal have already made contact in a bid to convince Meunier to make a move to London rather than Manchester.
But now he has told both United and Arsenal that he wants to stay with the French Champions.
“The club knows my intentions. I want to stay in Paris,” Meunier told France Football
”The executives know I am open to spending my fourth season here and to signing a new contract. It will be their decision – everything is in their hand
The Belgian star has found game time hard to come by at PSG and that is why they are ready to cash in if clubs meet the £25 million valuation, so all indications suggested that a move to the premier League would have been the best thing for his career.
A move to Arsenal or United would have been a great move for the defender, as they are both in need of a player of his ability.
So the news he now wants to stay will come as a disappointment, especially as he looked set to leave France.
