Chelsea news – Attacker announces ‘I’m so excited to be here’ after touching down
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has expressed his excitement after touching down in Milan to complete a £17 million move.
CHELSEA now face the prospect of trimming Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of next season and Pulisic is among the players who have been linked with a move away this summer.
The American star was hailed as the next big thing during his time with Borussia Dortmund – but it has not worked out for him at Chelsea and he is now being linked with a move away.
The USA star scored 11 goals in his first season at Chelsea but his contributions have gradually fallen away since then, with Pulisic starting just eight league games last term.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Upon arriving at the Milan Malpensa airport, Pulisic shared a video on social media, saying: “Hi AC Milan supporters. Christian Pulisic. I have just arrived in Milan. So excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.”
Former Blues striker Olivier Giroud – who played alongside Pulisic for two years – was asked if the winger would be a good fit for the Rossoneri, back in May.
“Ooh, good question. People here would love it, so would the coach,” Guroud admitted to CBS Sports, via Football Italia. “He is definitely a big name in Europe. Yeah, he could help us.”
“He was a happy boy, always good vibes, smiling, easy to have a laugh with him,” Giroud said.
“My understanding on the pitch with him was top, a bit like Eden (Hazard), though I played less with Christian. He is very skilful, he can dribble, play the one-two, knew how to use me on the pitch and vice-versa.
“We had some good times together. I hope he can get rid of the injuries, get more consistency and games, because he is a very, very talented player.”
WILL THIS BE A GOOD MOVE FOR PULISIC?
There is no doubt that Pulisic has alot of talent – but he simply is not a CHELSEA player and cannot get his best football at Stamford Bridge.
It would be the right decision to move on. Milan are still a massive club and the fact Seria A is a bit slower than the Premier League – it is a very good move for the American
