Pundit left wowed by West Ham signing – deal for £24M star to happen – Hammers will get deal done

Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Kaveh Solhekol says West Ham will only sell Nayef Aguerd to Al-Ittihad on one condition in the coming days.

WEST HAM spent some serious money over the course of the transfer window and added alot of players to the side that have really improved all areas of the pitch – but there is still some rumours that the board could get some deals done.

It has emerged over the past few days that Aguerd could be on his way to Saudi Arabia – as Al-Ittihad are very interested in doing a deal with the Hammers board for around the £24 million mark.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED –

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Solhekol says West Ham would only consider selling him if they received an “extraordinary” bid in the next two days.

“Another player who they really, really want is Nayef Aguerd, the West Ham centre-back,” Solhekol said.

“Again (it’s) Al-Ittihad, the champions of Saudi Arabia, it’s not just Mo Salah they want, they want Aguerd as well.

“Now West Ham are aware of the interest but what we’re being told is that the player is not for sale and that they wouldn’t do business because they can’t sign a replacement – unless they get a truly extraordinary offer.

“So again I think the player is going to stay because West Ham can’t sign a replacement.”

The Premier League transfer window has been closed for a few days now and WEST HAM must have thought that their transfer speculation was over with – but a few players could still leave.

Aguerd  is a man that would add some much needed depth to the side over the next 12 months and the Hammers would be mad to let him depart when they cannot sign an immediate replacement.

KUDUS CLAIM MADE –

West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus is “easily a top-six player”, according to Michael Bridge after the attacker joined the Hammers in the summer.

He enjoyed a breakthrough campaign where he scored 18 and assisted seven in all competitions and had started this season in fine fettle, too. he scored a hat-trick in Ajax’s Europa League play-off win over Ludogorets, which turned out to be his final game for the club.

The attacking midfielder, who can play across the front line, has penned a five-year contract with an option for another season with WEST HAM, but he had been linked to some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and even Newcastle were all very much interested in trying to get a transfer deal done, but it was the project at West Ham that Kudus was excited about, and Bridge has been left wowed by the signing of the attacker.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“I have to give huge credit to West Ham United because I think they’ve spent the Declan Rice money superbly,” said Bridge. “I think Kudus is a top player and easily a top-six player, so I’ve got to give credit to Tim Steidten.

“Four weeks before the deadline, there were newspaper reports about David Moyes and Steidten not getting on, and Steidten not being happy since joining because of not getting the opportunity to get the players he wants. It looks like the complete opposite now.

“You’ve got to work with your manager. I’m sure David Moyes was the one that wanted James Ward-Prowse, which was a no-brainer. I take my hat off to West Ham. I really, really do, and it comes after there were some murmurings about Moyes’ future during the summer.”

There are not too many West Ham fans that truly believed that a player like Kudus would make the move to London, but this deal just shows that the Hammers can attract big players.

They had a poor season last year, but this campaign should be an exciting one, especially as David Moyes now has a squad that could even compete for a top four side.

It would be a shock to see Kudus flop at WEST HAM.

FORNALS ON MOVE?

West Ham United star Pablo Fornals could still head to Saudi Arabia as the ‘deal will remain on the table’ for the next few days.

Fornals has started just one of WEST HAMs‘ opening four top-flight matches in the new campaign, coming on as a substitute in each of the last three, and he appears to have fallen behind the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Said Benrahma in the pecking order.

The big-money arrival of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax could also have an effect on Fornals’ minutes as the Ghana international is comfortable operating across the front three or as an advanced midfielder, and is expected to walk straight into the side when he is ready.

The Spain international has contributed with 23 goals and 19 assists in 184 appearances for the Hammers across all tournaments since joining from Villarreal in 2019, but the lure of big money in Saudi Arabia may be too tempting to turn down.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Journalist Dean Jones believes a potential move to Saudi Arabia is still on the cards for Fornals despite West Ham not being able to draft in a potential replacement as the transfer window is closed.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think that the Fornals to Saudi deal will remain on the table for a little bit.

“It’s something that West Ham will have to ponder, whether they could actually afford to lose him, but also for the player to think about what he wants from this season.

“He needs to think about whether he wants to be a bit-part player or if he thinks he can become a bit more than that.”

Fornals has entered the final year of his contract at the London Stadium and West Ham will be hoping that he stays put, it would be mad to move at this stage of his career.

The money is great, but WEST HAM could achieve something special this season and he needs to stay tp be part of that, all transfer windows should shut at the same time.
