Arsenal in talks to sign Frenchman, Ceballos sends Madrid message, Arsenal can sign Barcelona for £27 million, Essien has Partey message for Arsenal
Arsenal in Rabiot talks, Ceballos message sent, Umtiti for £27 million, Partey message sent by Essien in Arsenal roundup….
Arsenal eyebrows will surely be raised by the fact that Samuel Umtiti is available for as little as £27million this summer window.
With Mikel Arteta looking to spend some serious money during the summer transfer window, there was some speculation in the media that the Arsenal boss is seeking to add some world class defenders to his squad, with Umtiti high up on the shopping list.
Arsenal have already shipped too many goals this season and are in need of adding an experienced defender to that back-line in order to shore the the defence for next season.
A knee injury, which required surgery, saw the Frenchman lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet last season, and reports suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club for the right amount of money.
However, Umtiti has come out on a number of occasions and stated his desire to stay and fight for his Barcelona future, pretty much putting an end to the chase for Arsenal, who have seemingly switched their transfer attentions.
However, according to reports on the SUN, if Arsenal do decide to make a move for Umtiti, they will not have to splash close to the £50 million they were reportedly ready to pay last summer, and will only have to fork out £27 million to complete a transfer deal.
Look, Arsenal are a team that need to be improved in certain areas of the pitch, that is a fact, but trying to sign a man that has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons may not have been the way to go.
Dani Ceballos has reaffirmed his desire to be a success at Real Madrid once his loan at Arsenal is over.
After months and month and months of transfer speculation during the summer transfer window, the Gunners finally managed to finalise a try-before-they officially buy deal for the Spaniard, as Emery was desperate to add another midfielder to the side after Aaron Ramsey departed the club.
Ceballos has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and recently forced his way back into Mikel Arteta’s plans after a slow start under the new head coach, but the decision has been made not to hand him a new deal.
That will mean that Ceballos will have to head back to Madrid in the summer and try to force his way into Zinedine Zidane’s side, despite the fact that the Frenchman is not a massive fan of the Spaniard.
However, despite this, Ceballos has set his sights on establishing himself at the Bernabeu next season when his time at Arsenal comes to an end in just a few weeks time.
“I am a Real Madrid player,” Ceballos told TVE.
“Any player in the world would like to play for Real Madrid.
“I have a contract with them for three more years and they are the ideal team to succeed.”
His stats arent that great, he doesnt score of assist on a regular basis and considering he would be a big part of that midfield, he is not the ideal Santi Cazorla replacement.
Chelsea legend Michael Essien has heaped praise on Thomas Partey and admits he would have ‘loved’ to have got the chance to play alongside the Arsenal target.
Arsenal know that they may need to prepare for next season as this year may be over, and that means that the club will need to get into that transfer kitty early in the summer and sign players that they believe, will make an impact in the side next season.
And the club have been linked with a move for Partey for many years now, and have once again showed a keen interest in a possible deal, as the 26-year-old has been in impressive form for the Spanish side and starred in their win over Liverpool in the Champions League earlier in the season
Reports emerged last month that the midfielder’s dad suggested Atletico Madrid are locked in negotiations with the Gunners over a fee, Jacob Partey told a radio station how talks between his son and Arsenal were ongoing – but that Atleti are determined to hold on to him.
Now, amid all the speculation, Former Chelsea midfielder Essien has not been surprised by the interest in Partey and sung his compatriot’s praises during an Instagram Live interview this week.
‘Thomas is such a good player. I’d have loved to play with him,’ Essien, now playing for Azerbaijani club Sabail, told South African reporter Carol Tshabalala.
‘He is a young and talented player making waves in Europe. He is one player I’d liked to play alongside but it will never happen.
‘It is their time at the Black Stars now so we have to support them and hopefully they can take it from where we left off.’
Earlier this month, Partey’s Ghaha team-mate, Kasim Nuhu, admitted he would be ‘happy’ to see his friend join the Gunners this summer.
‘Atletico Madrid is a very good club so he is playing one of the biggest clubs in the world and Arsenal are also one of the biggest,’ he told TV3 on Instagram.
‘For me, it is his decision because playing for Atletico Madrid is the same as playing for Arsenal.
Arsenal are in negotiations with Juventus to land Adrien Rabiot in the summer transfer window, reports have claimed
Arsenal have been in the transfer headlines for weeks now as they are seemingly linked with every player that is in Europe and not happy at their respective club, and it seems that they are at it again.
They have been linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho in recent weeks, with all indications suggesting that he is keen on a move to the Emirates, but over the past few days there has been talk that the Arsenal may switch their attentions once the transfer window opens up, with Rabiot now on the list.
Rabiot, 25, joined Juventus on a free transfer after allowing his Paris Saint-Germain contract to expire in June 2019, but his move has not really worked out and the six-capped France international has completed just eight 90-minute Serie A fixtures this season.
He has remained a target of Arsenal, particularly now that the Gunners are looking to strengthen their midfield and replace Mesut Ozil, who is heavily tipped to finally pack his bags and depart the Arsenal at the end of the season.
Juventus are now looking to find a buyer for Rabiot and Le 10 Sport suggest that Arsenal have opened talks about a possible summer transfer deal.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is convinced Mateo Guendouzi is the future of Arsenal’s midfield and the Spaniard believes Rabiot could be the final piece of the puzzle.
However, his massive £225,000-a-week wages may be a problem, especially as the Gunners do not want to start paying over the odds on contract deals, especially with the Coronavirus hitting all the big clubs hard.
It is a massive shock to see that Rabiot has not impressed over in Juventus, but could Arsenal fans really see the club paying £60 million and then giving him that massive wage he desires to make the move to London? Probably not..
But if reports are true and Arsenal are in talks about a deal, he would be a very good player for the club to acquire and play next to guendouzi.
