Take advantage Emery! Gunners legend Pires urges Unai to sign up Liverpool target for Arsenal

Arsenal legend Robert Pires thinks Unai Emery could use his previous ties with PSG to sign Liverpool transfer target Adrien Rabiot in the summer transfer window.

Rabiot is regarded as one of the finest talents in Europe right now and PSG were keen to nail him down to a new contract, but the Frenchman failed to agree to a new deal and will not depart the club at the end of the season with a number of top clubs interested in a potential deal.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move as he seeks to continue building a side that will be capable of winning the Premier League and challenging for a Champions League crown on a regular basis, and has been an admirer of Rabiot for a while now.

But Arsenal have also been linked with a move as Emery needs an immediate replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey and legend Pires has urged the Spanish boss to use his ties with the player to try and bring him to the Premier League at the end of the season.

“Rabiot is a very good player and Arsenal should be trying their best to secure his signature before any other club does,” said Pires, speaking to bwin
.
“Arsenal have the advantage of Emery having already worked with him at PSG, which should hopefully sway Rabiot to join Arsenal.

“He would be worth a big fee on the transfer market so the fact he’s free makes it a no brainer. If Emery can secure Rabiot then I think he’ll be able to fill the hole that will be left by Ramsey’s departure.”

Would Rabiot be a good signing for Arsenal?

Arsenal losing Ramsey will be a massive loss for the club, especially since he will be leaving for free. But if they can secure a deal for the very impressive Rabiot then it will go a long way in helping to fill the void of the Welshman.

It is believed that Rabiot wants around £8.7 million a year to sign up, and considering he would be arriving on a free, it would be a big bargain for Emery to pull off.
