Artetas looking for German deal, Mikel urged to sign Ramsey-esque player for Arsenal, Arsenal can afford to lose Laca, Martinelli responds to Ronaldo claim

Arteta wants Mustafi stay, Mikel urged to sign Ramsey-esque player, Arsenal can afford to lose Lacazette, Martinelli responds to Ronaldo claim in Arsenal news..

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged the Arsenal to spend their transfer money and add a goal-scoring midfielder to the side this summer.

It is no secret that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has alot of work to do in order to improve this side enough to be able to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and even Manchester United next season.

There has been alot of talk that the back-line needs to be improved in the summer, as the likes of David Luiz are not good enough, but Parlour suggested on the need for the Gunners to find someone to fill the void created by Aaron Ramsey’s departure to Juventus in 2019

Ramsey may have been an injury prone player, but the Welshman was a proven Premier League goal-scoring midfielder, and since his departure, the Gunners have not be able to produce those kind of goals outside of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He told TalkSport: “I mentioned it last week, there’s no goals from midfield, that’s the big problem Arsenal have.

“[Bukayo] Saka scored a really good goal against Wolves, he was playing in the right position on that right-hand side, but that’s where they’ve really got to address in this transfer window.

“They lost Ramsey to Juventus who is probably the only player who can score goals from midfield and they didn’t really replace him with anyone.

“[Lucas] Torreira won’t score you goals, [Matteo] Guendouzi won’t score you goals, [Granit] Xhaka, [Dani] Ceballos doesn’t score you enough goals, [Mesut] Ozil isn’t even in the team.

“So that’s where they’ve really got to look at in the summer.

“As much as they really need a good centre-half as well, I think an attacking midfielder. But they’re hard to find and they cost a lot of money, the good ones.

“Whether Arsenal have got the money to spend, we’ll have to wait and see. That’s why they probably have to let Lacazette go and maybe get some money in to buy a midfielder.”

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has claimed keeping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is more important than Alexandre Lacazette.

Aubameyang has been in the transfer headlines alot over the past few weeks as all indications suggested that he could leave the club in the summer window, if they fail to get back into the Champions League, especially with Barcelona linked.

But he has not been the only player linked with a move away from the club, as Fellow frontman Lacazette is also generating exit talk, with Serie A giants Inter said to be keen on acquiring the France international.

And amid all the speculation, Parlour cannot see Arsenal agreeing to part with two proven goalscorers, but believes Lacazette could be deemed disposable as Mikel Arteta needs to generate funds for his own transfer dealings.

“Well, I don’t think they’ll lose both,” former Gunners midfielder Parlour told talkSPORT of the Lacazette and Aubameyang reports.

“It’s a situation where I don’t think you can afford to lose both.

“At the moment it’s very positive, the talk from the club itself looks like Aubameyang could be signing a new contract which would be brilliant news for Arsenal, and that could mean Lacazette could be on his way.

“There’s been lots of talk about him, Juventus has been mentioned for Lacazette with a player coming to Arsenal, I don’t know what sort of player is going to come to Arsenal that way.

“But I think Aubameyang is so important, he’s the one who scores you the goals.

“If you took him out of the Arsenal team now, who scores the goals?”

Mikel Arteta is urging Arsenal to offer defender Shkodran Mustafi a new deal, which will come as a shock to many fans.

Arsenal have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season with a number of poor performances from certain players at the club, which has led to alot of transfer speculation.

And it has mainly been the back-line that has caused the most issues for the Arsenal, as they simply couldnt keep a clean-sheet, which has angered more sections of the Arsenal fans, who are desperate for the club to sign some new defenders, especially with Mustafi a player that fans simply cannot trust.

The German is into the final year of his current Emirates deal, and Much like David Luiz, Mustafi’s sometimes haphazard performances in the back line as cost the Gunners some serious points, as they seek to get back to the top of the game.

But the Brazilian signed a new deal – which shocked many legends, many in the media and many large sections of the fans, and now Mustafi could do the same after Arteta dropped a hint that he is keen to get the World Cup winner signed up.

Speaking of Mustafi, Arteta said on Sky Sports: “That’s something the club has to address but he knows my opinion

“I’m really happy with him as you can see.

“The way he’s playing, how committed he is with everything we’re trying to do, the level in his performance every three or four days, he’s been really consistent.”

Arsenal starlet Gabriel Martinelli admits to having been left stunned by the “crazy” comments made by Ronaldinho.

The young Brazilian star is one of the most highly-rated players at the Emirates after a great break-through season under Mikel Arteta, in which he has netted Ten goals in just 26 appearances.

Ronaldinho is among those to have been impressed by Martinelli’s efforts, telling The Mirror in January: “We as Brazilians are very excited about him and his future.

“It is one thing to have the talent, but another at the age of 18 to have the confidence.

“He reminds me of Ronaldo. In his first season in Europe, he scored 30 goals and people were thinking, ‘who is this 18-year-old Brazilian kid?’

“He wanted the ball, he would run at players, there was no fear no matter what players or team he was playing against – and I see that similar attitude in Martinelli. He just wants to be on the ball and score goals.”

Now, Martinelli has opened up and admits to having been left stunned by the “crazy” comments made by Ronaldinho that compared him to great Ronaldo

He told Arsenal’s YouTube channel of the Ronaldo talk: “Wow, when I heard that I couldn’t believe it. It’s crazy because I was in Brazil until recently, playing in the Copa Sao Paulo, which is a prestigious youth-level competition, but it’s nothing like the Premier League.

“To get here and play in the Premier League for Arsenal, one of the best clubs in the world, and for one of the best Brazilian players of all time to speak so highly of me and compare me with one of the best forwards in football history is something that seems hard to believe.

“You think ‘could he really be talking about me? Is it me?’ To be honest it still hasn’t sunk in. That’s the case for many things because they’ve happened so quickly in my life.

“As I said I always have to keep my feet on the ground. I’m grateful for those who praise me and I always try to give my best to keep earning that praise but above all it’s about working hard and going for wins and success here at Arsenal.”
