Rashford decision, Solskjaer wants stay, huge Ozil claim, Eriksen alert in good morning Arsenal, Man United fans
Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United and Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from IcFootballnews.
Real Madrid target Marcus Rashford has decided he wants to stay at Manchester United and will reject any chance to move away.
Rashford, who is regarded as the best England talent around, has been linked with a shock move away over the past few months after failing to impress former boss Jose Mourinho.
The special one chose to play Alexis Sanchez over Rashford after he signed from Arsenal last January, despite the fact he has been inconsistent with his performances, and that reportedly frustrated Rashford as the young man believed he deserved to start.
That led to reports that Madrid were ready to swoop in and offer him a way out of Old Trafford, with recent reports even suggesting Real made contact with Rashford and his team at the end of 2018 about a move to the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
However, the Sun claim that with Mourinho’s departure from Old Trafford, Rashford has now decided that he will stay at United and snub any offers from Real.
Rashford has rediscovered his goal-scoring touch since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival and has scored twice in three games under the Norwegian.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he will not want to leave Manchester United in the summer.
After one the poorest starts to a new Premier League season in recent memory, United finally ended all speculation on the future of Jose Mourinho by letting the special one go.
And he was quickly replaced by club legend Solskjaer, who is a firm fans favourite, and United’s 2-0 win at Newcastle saw him match Sir Matt Busby’s record of winning his first four games as manager of the club, he has no intention of leaving the club.
United have a number of possible targets they would like to hire in the summer, with Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino and Laurent Blanc all top of the shopping list.
But even though Solskjaer knows he is just looking after the club for the next few months, he has admitted he does not want to leave the club at the end of the season.
He e said with a smile: “Of course I won’t, I don’t want to.
“It’s such a great bunch of players, a fantastic atmosphere, but it’s the next game, it’s the next game, it’s the next game and I’m doing my job as long as I’m here.”
Manchester United target Mesut Ozil wants to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of his current contract, his agent has announced.
Ozil has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season as there is even more talk that he could be sold by boss Unai Emery, as he does not fit the playing style of the former PSG and Sevilla manager.
Add that to the fact he is on a wage he does not deserve, in many peoples eyes, and his clear lack of consistency, means that links to United, Juventus and PSG have emerged over the last few weeks.
However, his agent Dr Erkut Sogut has said that the German is not looking to leave the club and would like to stay at the Emirates beyond his current deal.
“I would prefer not to speak publicly about Mesut’s situation, but given the recent speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal, I do feel it is important to provide some clarity so we can end this and focus on football,” he told Goal.
“Mesut signed a new contract last January because he saw his future at Arsenal and nothing has changed in his mind. He wants to stay for the duration of that contract and maybe even longer.
“Mesut is 100 per cent committed to Arsenal Football Club. He loves the club, shares its values and does not want to be anywhere else.”
tottenham are growing concerned over Christian Eriksen’s reluctance to sign a new deal with the club, a month after he received a fresh offer.
Eriksen has been pivotal in Spurs great start to the new Premier League season and he has been the architect for so many of Tottenham’s goals over the past 12 months.
But there has been some speculation that he could pack his bags and leave the club if the right offer arrives, as he simply cannot agree a new contract with Tottenham.
It is no secret that Spurs have a wage cap that they do not want to go over, for any player, and they are willing to let big names leave rather than hand the kind of wages that they do not deserve.
The likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and PSG reportedly interested in a deal, and will be boosted by the news that Spurs are worried that Eriksen will not sign a new deal, according to the London Evening standard website.
It is believed Eriksen is seeking a deal towards the top end of Tottenham’s cap, and will not sign a deal unless Spurs meet the terms he wants.
