Wow! Rashford sends Solskjaer message as Manchester United linked with Pochettino deal

Marcus Rashford has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid speculation that a move for Mauricio Pochettino could be made.

After helping Tottenham become one of the best side sin Europe right now, Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy took the decision to get rid of the Argentine boss and replace him with former Manchester United and Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho.

It is believed that Mourinho was desperate to make the return back to the Premier League after a sluggish few seasons with United, and signed a deal that will keep him at the White Hart Lane club until the end of the 2022/23 season.

But his arrival at Spurs has meant that United have the possibility of signing one of their long-term targets for nothing, especially as Solskjaer has come under intense pressure over the past few months with some pretty poor results.

Rashford is enjoying life under the former United striker and says Solskjaer was a key factor behind the decision to extend his deal at Old Trafford.

“There was no hesitation from me over signing a new contract,” Rashford told Sky Sports News.

“And it was the same for Ole as well – I could see where his head was at, where he wanted the club to be at and for me it was just a no-brainer.

“We were on the same page and wanted the same things for the club. Ole is a great guy and he has the club’s interests at heart so there’s not a better person for the job in my opinion.”

Pochettino is one of the best young managers in the game and worked wonders at Tottenham, despite his limited transfer kitty, so it is obvious that he is going to be linked with every top club in the game, because every top club are very keen on his signature.

Solskjaer seems safe enough for now, but if results dont pick up in the coming months, United may well decide to make a move to try and sign Pochettino, having tried on a number of occasions in the past.
