Reina, Biglia say their goodbyes as Chelsea all set to announce Higuain transfer deal
AC Milan stars Lucas Biglia and Pepe Reina have admitted Gonzalo Higuain has already said his goodbyes to the club ahead of his Chelsea move.
After months of speculation, it seems that Chelsea are all set to announce a deal for the Argentine superstar after Maurizio Sarri convinced the board that the former Real Madrid striker was the clubs answer to theri goal-scoring problems.
It is believed that a loan deal has already been agreed between Chelsea and Juventus, and a deal is being held up while Milan try and complete a £31 million deal for Genoa hitman Krzysztof Piatek, who has become one of the hottest striker sin Europe.
However, Reina and Biglia have described their final conversations with Higuain before he jetted off for England, after the Arentine said his goodbyes to the club.
‘I said goodbye to Higuain with an embrace, it’s always a bitter moment,’ Reina said at a charity event on Tuesday evening.
‘I wished him all the best and gave him a hug. Unfortunately, this too is football. I am losing a teammate, but retain a great friend.’
Bliglia added: ‘There is a bitter feeling when saying goodbye, as Pipita is a friend.
‘Another player will arrive, one who can hopefully become a great centre-forward.
‘We want to continue doing well.’
Will Chelsea wrap up the Higuain deal soon?
Until Milan announce a deal for Piatek, it is very unlikely that Chelsea will announce a deal for Higuain very likely as the Italians will not let the striker leave without having an immediete replacement.
But Chelsea should also wor on other transfer deals, as buying a striker is not the only issue for Chelsea as they need another midfielder and centre-half before the end of the transfer window.
At the moment all focus is on the Higuain deal, but with only days left in the window, they need to get on with it.
