Chelsea have Rice plan, Fabregas sends Ziyech message, Boateng reveals surprise, Chelsea open Balde talks in Chelsea news roundup…
Chelsea have reportedly made an approach to Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde about a possible transfer to Stamford Bridge.
There is no doubt that Chelsea have been the most active side in the transfer market lately, and have done some good business, both for the first-team and that highly-exciting youth system that they have at the club.
The Blues are always looking out for the best young talents in the game and have a habit of nabbing the rising stars of the game in hope that they can develop them into the perfect Chelsea player in the coming seasons.
And According to Sport, Chelsea have now approached Balde and have already entered into discussions with his ‘surroundings’ as they look to lure him to England.
Balde is one of the most exciting talents at the Camp Nou, and he is not be too far away from playing in the Barcelona first-team, where he would be getting the chance to play with some of the greatest players in the game right now.
But the reports suggests he may well also be tempted by the prospect of a move to the Premier League in order to boost his hopes of playing more regularly.
Look, Balde is a super young talented player that doesnt need to move right now, he is developing very nicely in the Barcelona system, so even though Chelsea would be a good move for many players to make, right now, this lad needs to stay put.
Former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas believes Hakim Ziyech can make the side a serious attacking force this season.
Ziyech was a player that Frank Lampard was eager to add to this Chelsea squad over the transfer window, as the club legend knew that he needed to add some more creativity and goals to his attack.
And after his move from Ajax, Ziyech became the first player since Diego Costa to score in his first two starts for Chelsea and the Moroccan assisted both Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva as Frank Lampard’s men beat Sheffield United last weekend.
Asked about Ziyech’s impact, ex-Chelsea midfielder Fabregas told 90min: ‘He has this vision that you need in a top team like Chelsea who wants to win and be champions. ‘It’s true that they were a team a little bit lacking ideas in the last season and maybe at the beginning of this season.
‘But yeah, with Ziyech, you can see that he has this last pass and it’s not only that he sees it, it’s that he makes it right and at the right time.
‘This is the decision-making we talk about nowadays. Why are coaches so tactical? Because they see that the decision-making of the players is not that good so they need to teach them always what to do.
‘You know, before, I believe coaches were not so much on top of the player because they felt maybe that there wasn’t so much need because they felt maybe that there wasn’t so much need because already the players sort it by themselves.’
‘I think he’s one of these players that makes things happen. ‘Things that, when the defenders or the centre-backs don’t expect you to make that pass and you catch them sleeping.
‘And you have someone like Timo Werner making great runs in behind and I think this is where Chelsea could be so powerful this year.’
Chelsea are still determined to sign Declan Rice either during the January transfer window or at the end of the season, and guru Marina Granovskaia might have a way of funding the move.
There was alot of speculation in the transfer window that Frank Lampard was eager to bring the very impressive Rice to Stamford Bridge, but as the club had already spent over £250 million on new players, a deal could not get reached.
The Hammers are not no fools and know that Rice is rated very highly across Europe, so high in fact that they put a massive £80 million on the head of the England International, which is a very high asking price.
However, they remain interested and have been tipped to move during January or the summer, and according to Football.London they could end up with more money than they need if they go ahead with the plan that Granovskaia has
Chelsea currently have a string of unwanted players on the fringes at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Emerson Palmieri, Marcos Alonso, Danny Drinkwater, Olivier Giroud and Antonio Rudiger all unlikely to play much going forward due to new signings.
Combined, they have a value on Transfermarkt of £63m, meaning they’d be well on their way towards funding a move for Rice, and Add on Abdul Rahman Baba and that total reaches £65.1m
It is alot of money raised from the possible sales of the stars, but it would go along way into getting Rice signed in the coming windows.
Chelsea-linked Jerome Boateng has revealed why he has been surprised over the past few weeks.
During the summer transfer window, Frank Lampard was seeking to add an experienced defender to that Chelsea back-line as he needed to add some leadership and quality ahead of the new season, and he was heavily linked with a move for Boateng.
Despite being a regular fixture in the squad over the past few years, there was widespread speculation that Boateng was done at Bayern, and that the German were ready to cash in on the defender in order to freshen up this ageing squad.
However, a despite all the rumours and despite all that speculation, Chelsea failed to get a transfer deal done for Boateng and in the end, they opted to bring the brilliant Tiago Silva to the club, and he has proven to be a massive hit with the fans.
But there has been some more reports that Chelsea may opt to make a move to Boateng in the upcoming transfer window to add even more quality to that back-line, especially after they found reports claiming that Bayern were ready to cash in.
Boateng, though, has been taken aback by these claims: “Nobody approached me, nobody spoke to me, I didn’t know anything about it, I was surprised,” he told Suddeutsche Zeitung when asked to react to the news.
Boateng has been in the game long enough now to realise that there will always be alot of interest in the media about his future, but we are still shocked to see that Chelsea are still seemingly interested.
They have done well in defence this season, and we expected that the next transfer signing would be a more long-term signing, not one that would only be at the club for the next few seasons.
