Chelsea told Havertz like Cruyff, Blues should sign Koulibaly, Chelsea told to keep Rudiger, Silva makes Lampard admission, boss reacts to Declan Rice claims in Chelsea news roundup…

Chelsea’s Kai Havertz has been compared to the legendary Johan Cruyff by Ralf Rangnick.

Havertz ended months of transfer speculation in the media when he finally agreed to sign a five-year contract worth over £300,000-a-week to sign with Chelsea, after the Blues finally managed to agree a £71 million transfer fee with Bayer Leverkusen.

The young German has featured in every game for Chelsea this season, and managed to secure his first hat-trick for the Blues in the Carabao Cup in midweek, which has got many people expecting many more goals this season from the young man.

Now, The ex-RB Leipzig coach and sporting director believes The Blues have done great business by bringing Havertz in from the German side this summer, and has been compared to the legendary Johan Cruyff

He told Sky Sports: “I have no doubts whatsoever that he will become a sustainable success and that he will become one of the top players in the next two or three years.

“Maybe, he will need a couple of weeks to get adjusted because he has a fantastic family background – I know that because I was also trying to convince him to join us at Leipzig but he was completely dedicated to Bayer Leverkusen.

“He’s one of those players where I don’t see any weaknesses in his game. He’s the type of modern Johan Cruyff – he can score goals and he can provide assists.”

Thiago Silva revealed Frank Lampard was the driving force behind his move to Chelsea this summer.

After many successful seasons with PSG, Silva opted against signing a new contract with the French giants towards the back end of last season, and decided that now was the right time to leave and seek a fresh challenge in the game.

That led to Chelsea showing a real interest in getting a transfer deal done, and after a few weeks of talks, it had been decided that Stamford Bridge would be the mans last big transfer move.

He made his debut in midweek against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, and looked very impressive, but has revealed that if it was not for Frank Lampard being at Chelsea, he probably would have not signed for the club

He told BBC Sport’s Football Focus: “For me it’s a source of great pride to be part of his project.

“If it wasn’t for him, if he didn’t believe in me, I wouldn’t be here.

“I certainly feel privileged to be a part of a new family, and to be coached by one of the best players in the world.”

Silva is a world class player that has a few years left in those legs of his, so even though he will not play every game for Chelsea this season, he will add so much leadership to the side on and off the pitch.

Frank Lampard has reacted to the reports which have claimed that Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Declan Rice.

Chelsea have been very active in the transfer window this summer and The signing of Rennes goalkeeper Mendy for £20million has taken the clubs summer spending past £220m, as they seek to regain that Premier League and Champions League title.

Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have all joined Chelsea in a hectic transfer window that keeps giving Chelsea fans more excitement, and it is expected that Rice could be the final signing of the summer.

Rice has become one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and the latest reports have suggested that HE HAS AGREED PERSONAL TERMS ON A MOVE TO STAMFORD BRIDGE, with the two clubs in contact about a transfer fee.

But while Lampard refused to speak on England star Rice he also would not declare his recruitment drive to be at an end, Asked if Mendy will be Chelsea’s last arrival in this transfer window, Lampard on the SUN website: “I honestly don’t have answers to the speculation of ins or outs going forward.”

When quizzed on West Ham midfielder Rice, Lampard continued: “Again they are rumours, I can’t talk about these things, but when players are ours it’s not my position to speculate on what may be, and it’s the same on the other side from players from other clubs. And I’ll continue that way.”

Martin Keown has urged Chelsea to keep hold of Antonio Rudiger this summer window.

Chelsea have done some wonderful transfer business this summer that has improved the attack, but there is a feeling that Frank Lampard needs to sell a defender before he is able to bring in a new face.

That has led to speculation in the media that Barcelona are lining up a shock move to try and sign Rudiger in a deal worth around £40 million, after reports emerged which suggested that Chelsea were looking to get rid.

However, that would be a mistake, according to Keown, who has claimed that Chelsea should keep hold of the defender, he told TalkSport: “The goals they concede, they don’t seem to know how to mark properly from crosses.

“We’re asked to analyse now in this job, to look at the detail; have a look at Chelsea’s line.

“I’ve spent hours watching, their defence is a joke, it’s a disgrace!

“Silva’s come in, maybe he’ll resolve that, but I think Rudiger is actually their best defender.

“He’ll perform better with somebody alongside him telling him the craft of how to mark from crosses – which is where they conceded a lot of goals last season.

“Defending has gone out the window in the Premier League at the moment, by the way, but there are elements of Chelsea’s team at the back that are not quite right.

“They’re not in position early enough and that’s because they go to sleep.

He added: “I would go Thiago Silva alongside Rudiger.

“I know Rudiger has a problem from set pieces, but they all do. Kurt Zouma is maybe a better header of the ball, but he’s also prone to mistakes.

“I think Rudgier is their best defender, and that is the long-time partnership.

“But, it looks like Rudiger is going out the door!”

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Kalidou Koulibaly will leave for the right price this summer, and Chelsea should forget about Declan Rice and make a move..

Koulibaly has firmly established himself as one of the very best centre-backs over in Italy over the past few seasons and his performances have led to rumours that he is coming to the Premier League

The 29-year-old defender has been linked with big-money moves to Chelsea for months now, But Frank Lampard has not been making any moves for Koulibaly as the asking price for the defender has been sky high

It is believed that the Blues are keen to try and make a move to try and bring Rice to the club, although is massive asking price is also an issues for the club as the board reportedly dont believe in his abilit.

De Laurentiis recently confirmed Kalidou Koulibaly will leave for the right price this summer, with reports suggesting that he would now take £60 million for the powerhouse, he
told Canale 21: “Koulibaly and [Napoli striker Arkadiusz] Milik are both on their way out, transfer market permitting.

“So, if the transfer market allows us to sell these two excellent players, we will know how to replace them.

“If not, then we’ll discuss it again next year.”
