Chelsea keen on Szalai, Chelsea tipped to sign Rice and Hazard heading back to England in latest Chelsea news…

Chelsea are lining up a move for Fenerbahce and Hungary international Attila Szalai, according to reports.

Chelsea may have one of the best squads in Europe right now and a club that will win a few more trophies this season, but Thomas Tuchel knows that he will need to keep adding to his squad in order to keep improving his side

And reports have claimed The Blues are keen on getting the Hungarian in January and with the Turkish club keen to raise funds, a move looks likely according to The Sun.

The report states that other Premier League cubs have already expressed interest in the defender in the past.

‘Reports in both Turkey and Hungary now claim that Chelsea have been on Szalai’s trail throughout this season,’ the report explains.

‘The Premier League leaders are said to be preparing a £17million offer for the 6ft, 4in powerhouse.

‘And Fenerbahce are understood to be ready to sell their prize asset in order to fund a mid-season,’ the report states.

‘He played in both Hungary’s recent World Cup qualifiers against England – a 4-0 home loss in Budapest and last month’s impressive 1-1 draw at Wembley.

‘Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is now thought to be considering Szalai as an eventual successor for 36-year-old Thiago Silva.’

Tuchel is a man that knows what type of players that will improve this Chelsea squad, so if he wants Szalai, then he must be a player that is worth signing

The Blues have a very good squad, but Thiago Silva will surely leave the club and the club need to find the right replacement

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has claimed that Real Madrid star Eden Hazard “would love” to play for Newcastle United’s new boss Eddie Howe.

Hazard spent seven years in the Premier League at Chelsea between 2012 and 2019 and developed into one of the very best attackers in world football, which earned him a mega money move to Real Madrid

However, that move has not worked out and the superstar has struggled to make any sort of impact at the Bernabeu, and He has only been able to play 40 times in La Liga since the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Newcastle United‘s Saudi-led takeover was completed last month and they have been linked with Hazard, and Wilshere has told talkSPORT that Hazard would love playing for Newcastle’s new boss:

“He was great with me [at Bournemouth], because it was tough for me there because I was coming from a big club,” Wilshere said.

“I stepped into a group that had been together since they were in League One, they were all friends. They were all great with me, but Eddie made sure they were. He was great with me.

“Eden Hazard is another level, but I think Eden would love playing for a manager like Eddie Howe [at Newcastle]. He’s the type of manager you want to play for.

“I worked with him at a club that I see now are quite similar to Newcastle – not in terms of the size of the club, but in terms of the players,’ the ex-England international said.

“Newcastle have got a few ex-Bournemouth players and that is what Eddie does, he gets the best out of those types of players, gets them going and he gets the fans on side.

“He’s a great manager. I think he deserves a chance. If he goes in and does really well, in a few years they could be pushing the top six, which I think he can do.

“When I played under him at Bournemouth we arguably had a worse squad and we finished ninth, so he can definitely do that.

“It’s down to him when he gets that chance to take them to the next level.”

Chelsea are once again being tipped to try and acquire the services of West Ham star Declan Rice

After failing to make the grade at Chelsea, Rice has now established as one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League, and one of the best holding midfielders in Europe right now

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Chelsea are the front-runners to try and get a deal done, especially as they need a long-term replacement for the ageing Ngolo Kante

However, despite the speculation, Chelsea have so far failed to make a formal offer to get a deal done and many believe that they are no longer interested in a possible transfer deal

However, after his impressive display against Liverpool at the weekend, there is more speculation that Thomas Tuchel would indeed like to bring him to the club

And any such move would certainly win the approval of Chelsea legend John Terry. Having set up a Twitter account recently, the former Blues skipper was quick to administer praise for Rice.

“Declan Rice is the best in his position in world football. What a player,” Terry stated.

However, Any deal for Rice is likely to cost his suitors close to a British record fee.

The midfielder himself also appears in no mood to consider leaving the Irons and is very much focused on helping West Ham climb higher.

“We are joint third,” said Rice recently. “The big question people asked before the season was whether we could do it again after qualifying for Europe. We’ve found out we can.

“But there are still a lot more games to go. This is the level, the standard. We can’t drop if we want to be a big team.

“I can definitely add [goals] to my game, I have four this season. It doesn’t get better with the feeling of scoring a goal.

“We won 4-1 but we were so sloppy in the second half. We gave the ball away so much. The manager won’t be happy. There were times we could have countered and gave it away.”
