Chelsea told Declan Rice ‘will reach another level’ when he leaves West Ham, with Blues keen on possible deal

Aaron Cresswell has admitted Declan Rice would reach ‘another level’ if he were to ever leave West Ham amid speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea.

Rice has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League this season and his performances has led to all sorts of rumours that he will make the step up in the summer to a bigger club.

Chelsea are still seeking to improve their side and have been linked with a move, while Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay the big money to try and nail down his signature.

But it is Chelsea that are most keen to try and nail down the signature of Rice, as they seek to continue their summer of spending.

Chelsea have already generated plenty of headlines in the transfer market having sealed the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, and now Lampard has asked the club to sign West Ham’s talisman Rice.

It is believed that West Ham are asking big money for their best player, but the reports suggests that Chelsea are confident that they can sign up Rice for a fee of around £45 million.

And amid the speculation, Cresswell has opened up and claimed Rice would reach ‘another level’ if he were to ever leave West Ham.

‘He’s close to 100 Premier League games already, and I’m not just saying that because he’s a West Ham player and a good mate of mine, but I really do believe he’s one of the top talents in the country,’ Cresswell told talkSPORT.

‘I wouldn’t like to see him leave, but if he were to ever leave he would become another level with better players around him.

‘He’s come in at centre-back over the last couple of games due to injuries we’ve had and he can play either. ‘It’s a great option he’s got but in terms of ability-wise, he’s a fantastic player.’
