Rooney opens up on Manchester United’s brilliant £77 million signing

Wayne Rooney has given his take on Manchester United’s signing of Jadon Sancho this summer window

The Red Devils have had a £77.5million transfer bid accepted from Borussia Dortmund as the 21-year-old looks to come to the Premier League and test himself in the worlds best

He is tipped to become one of the very best wingers in world football and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was desperate to add him to the attack, and add another threat up top as he looks to win that Premier League title next season

Rooney, who is United’s all-time leading goalscorer, is expecting Sancho to shine at Old Trafford, telling Sky Sports on the back of a 2-1 friendly defeat for his Derby side against Solskjaer’s troops: “He scores goals, creates goals, so I think it’s a very good signing.”

The Red Devils icon added: “I think there will be a lot of pressure, which there should be with Manchester United.

“Sancho coming in, they are rumoured to be in for a few more players.

“They are in a period now where the fans will be wanting success, silverware, and Ole and his coaching staff will be under pressure to deliver that.”

We are all interested to see just how Sancho does in the Premier League next season as it is not the Bundesliga, he will come up against quality players on a weekly basis. And will need to deal with the pressures that the media also bring

But he should be a signing that fans will love, he really has alot of quality in that body of his
