15-goal forward ‘excited’ after officially making move to Arsenal

New Arsenal women signing Rosa Kafaji has revealed that she cannot wait to get started after joining the club on a permanent transfer from Swedish side from BK Häcken.

ARSENAL women almost won that WSL title last season and took it to the wire before Chelsea managed to put results together and regain that title once again, just before Emma Hayes departed the Blues.

Arsenal have been working hard this transfer window adding players to the side that they feel will bring in more quality, and after a few weeks of speculation, the Gunners have confirmed the signing of Kafaji.

Rosa made the switch from AIK Football to BK Häcken in January 2022 and would go on to make 61 appearances and score 28 goals during her time at the club, and  She was Häcken’s top scorer in the 2023/24 season, scoring 15 goals.

And after signing for Arsenal this summer – she opened up and revealed her excitement: “It feels amazing. I’m very happy to be here,” Rosa said in her first club interview. “I just got a very good feeling after talking to Jonas, and it felt right.

“This is a good, good league with many good clubs, and the games are very tough, so I’m very excited.”

ARSENAL Head Coach Jonas Eidevall said: “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Rosa to the club. She’s one of the most exciting young talents in the world and I’ve been a keen admirer of her game for a number of years.

‘She plays with a fearlessness beyond her age and I know she has the hunger and mentality it takes to realise her potential here with Arsenal.”
