‘Representatives are in “constant dialogue” about transfer as Chelsea boss Tuchel hits out at media

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger’s representatives are in “constant dialogue” with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain about a possible transfer exit from Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season

Rudiger is one of the most important players in that Chelsea squad and a man that Thomas Tuchel would like to keep at the club for the forseeable future, especially after his performances for the Blues this season.

Discussions between the centre-back’s representatives and Chelsea had taken place in January but, as yet, no new, improved official offer has been tabled, despite the rumours that Chelsea are willing to make him the highest paid defender in the clubs history.

It is believed that Rudiger wants a contract offer closer to the £250,000-a-week mark over the next couple of seasons, but the Blues are not willing to go that high and are also not willing to hand him more than a year-contract offer

Sky Sports News has now been told there have been no talks with Chelsea over a new deal for over a month, and the report claims the Germans representatives are in “constant dialogue” with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain about a possible transfer exit from Stamford Bridge

Rudiger is unlikely to make a decision on his future until the summer as he wants to weigh up his options and whether or not he is ready for the next chapter of his footballing career.

Rudiger is a world class defender that has been brilliant for the club for some time now, so to lose him for nothing in the summer will be a massive blow to the squad.

However, one player does not make the team and if he is not willing to compromise on the demands that he wants, then Chelsea will delve into that transfer kitty and bring in an adequate replacement.

There has been a few players linked, but if Rudiger does leave, then the next likely arrival would be Kules Kounde from Sevilla.

The news comes after Thomas Tuchel has asked the media to stop asking him about the war in Ukraine and how it has been effecting his team because of owner Roman Abramovic.

Tuchel was repeatedly asked about the war in Ukraine, how it is impacting his team, and that eventually proved too much for the German.

‘Listen, you have to stop! I’m not a politician, you have to stop, honestly,’ Tuchel insisted. ‘I’m only repeating, and I even feel bad to repeat it because I haven’t experienced war.

‘Even to talk about it I feel bad because I’m very privileged. I sit here in peace and I do the best I can but you have to stop asking me these questions, I have no answers for you.’

This came after Tuchel had made his feelings clear that of course he is horrified by war, but is trying to focus on his job, which is managing Chelsea Football Club.

‘You decide also to ask me about war,’ he said. ‘It’s horrible, of course it’s horrible, there cannot be any other opinion about it and that’s it.

‘But why should we be more distracted than you at work? Of course it’s out there and we know there are more important things out there and this will never change.

‘This is sports and there are a lot of more important things out there and still there’s a huge distraction going on, we are worried by we try to create an atmosphere to come to work and focus on our work which is our passion.

‘We are very grateful and privileged to have it and it’s not that big a problem. But of course I thin that everyone in Europe. more or less, has some noise in their head that nobody likes. It maybe the same for you, but you try to do your job as best as possible and it’s the same for us.’
