Big man announces ‘i cant wait to meet new team-mates’ after Arsenal officialy confirm deal

Alex Runarrson has opened up and admitted his delight after sealing a loan move away from Arsenal this summer

Runarrson was signed by the Gunners just a couple of transfer windows ago in hope that he could develop enough to compete for that number one spot

But after the arrival of the impressive Aaron Ramsdale las summer and the signing of Matt Turner this transfer window – he was told by the club that he was no longer needed and would be allowed to leave

Runarsson spent last season in Belgium with Jupiler League outfit OH Leuven and made 20 appearances – but he has now decided to spend the 2022/23 season with Turkish Super Lig side Alanyaspor

And after officially confirming that a deal has been announced – the stopper has opened up and admitted his delight at the move – Speaking to the Alanyaspor website, Runarrson said: “I am very happy to be here. We have been in contact for a long time.

“From the moment I stepped inside the club, there was an incredibly warm welcome. I can’t wait to meet my teammates. I hope I will be useful for Alanyaspor.”

It is a shame that it never really worked out for the stopper at Arsenal – but at the end of the day – there were always better goalkeepers at the club

This is a good move for the man to make as he will get some much-needed game time – Arsenal fans will wish him the best of luck – but he will not be missed too much

He is not a player that meant alot to that Gunners first team – so as we said – he will not be missed alot
