Madrid to sell £50m Man United target, Solskjaer told target will cost £50 million and Bundesliga star wants exit amid United links
White to cost £50 million, Madrid to cash in on Varane and Sabitzer wants RB exit in Manchester United roundup…
Manchester United have been warned Ben White will cost £50million in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Brighton defender, 23, enjoyed a fine debut Premier League season this term, and he was rewarded for his form by replacing the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
Brighton are unsurprisingly desperate to keep hold of the Three Lions star beyond this summer, but it has led to alot of speculation that United are very much interested in trying to get a transfer deal done.
However, Brighton are so desperate to keep hold of White, the Seagulls have slapped a £50m price tag on the Dorset-born defender – and they will not accept anything less for the man.
White is certainly a player that has proven himself in the Premier League and is now ready to make that step up and join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
United would be the idea move for the player, as they lack quality at the back. But if the reports are true and Brighton will not let him leave the club for less than £50 million, he may be priced out of a move to Old Trafford.
United will not want to pay silly money for the defender as they know that there are other parts of the pitch that need to be sorted out first, and spending £50 million on White, may be seen as too much money.
But saying that, he is quality and would add some more depth to that side.
Manchester United are looking to try and win the race to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to be handed a massive transfer budget in the summer to add a world class defender and striker to the attack, and the United have been linked with a move for Varane.
Varane has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer with reports that Real Madrid are willing to cash in to help raise some funds to nail down their top transfer targets
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid will definitely sell Varane this in the coming months, should he refuse to sign a new deal, and President Florentino Perez hopes to receive more than £60million for the defender – an easy fee for English sides to reach.
Madrid are believed to have offered Varane around £100,000-a-week to stay at Santiago Bernabeu, but he is reportedly seeking closer to the £200,000-a-week mark to commit to the club.
Quizzed on the speculation he is generating after linking up with the France squad for Euro 2020 duty, Varane recently told reporters: “This is not the time to talk about my future, I am focused on the selection, on this Euro, it is normal and logical to ask the question and for my part it is normal and logical to focus on the upcoming deadlines.
“We are all human beings. We can think about it. As for my personal case, I am focused on the objectives that we have in the France team, it is not a subject that I will discuss every day in my room at Clairefontaine.
“I am focused on my goal, and now is not the time to discuss it. If I have to talk about it, it will be directly with the people concerned.”
RB Leipzig star Marcel Sabitzer reportedly wants to leave the Bundesliga outfit, with Manchester United linked.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer, with numerous clubs from the Premier League linked.
The midfield enforcer has been one of the top performers in Europe across the last couple of years and an impressive European Championship could attract even more interest, and there is claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to add him to the squad
And amid the speculation, Sabitzer wants to leave the Bundesliga club and could be available for €17.5 million (£15m/$21m), according to The Athletic.
However, amid all the speculation, his mind is focused on international matters ahead of a Group C campaign featuring games against North Macedonia, Holland and Ukraine. Asked whether he would like to play in England, Sabitzer said: “I can’t really say, I am focusing on the task that I have here with the national team.
“Everything that has to do with the club and future has zero importance for me at the moment if I want to be successful with this team at the European Championship.
“I am not going to give any updates before the end of the Euros.”
Sabitzer is certainly a player that could make a real impact on this United side if they did decide to try and get a deal done. But he may feel a move to Ole Trafford would not give him the game time that he would want.
