Mohamed Salah opens up and sends devastating Liverpool message
Mohamed Salah has admitted that he is devastated to not have Champions League football with Liverpool next season.
Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in world football and were expected to really challenge Manchester City for that Premier League title and all the big clubs for that Champions League crown.
However – they have not looked like their brilliant selves this season and have really struugled to find the form which has made them one of the best in the game.
Manchester United cruised past a lacklustre Chelsea side on Thursday evening, with goals from Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford earning a commanding victory at Old Trafford, and earning them a top four spot.
It is the first time since the 2016/2017 season that Liverpool have failed to finish in the Champions League places, and now Salah has admitted that he is devestated that Liverpool will not be in the Champions League.
He tweeted: “I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed.
‘We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum.
‘I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.”
