Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today…

Salah has been one of the very best players in the Premier League for quite some time now and is a real source of goals for the Reds, with his goal-ratio up there with some of the best finishers in the game.

However – he is out of contract at the end of the season and there has been alot of speculation and rumours about his long-term future, as there has not been any talks opened over a new contract at the club, and he has shown no real desire to agree a new deal.

He once again hit thr back of the net at the weekend to help Liverpool go top of the Premier League and after the game, the Egyptian star hinted that his future may lie away from the club, Posting on X, Salah said: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end.

‘That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

Look, Salah has achieved everything he possibly can at Liverpool, he has no more to prove at the top of the game and to be honest we would not be surprised to see him take a massive contract and make that move to Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool will find it very difficult to replace a player that was only signed for £15 million, but at the end of the day, the fans will thank him for all he has done and he will go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players.

But it will be interesting to see where he ends up and it will be interesting to see who Arne Slots brings in.

MBEUMO PRICE SET –

Brentford have slapped an asking price of £50m on Bryan Mbeumo as he continues to be linked with Liverpool as a possible replacement for Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who is out of contract at the Reds at the end of the season.

Only Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has more goals than Mbeumo so far this season and talkSPORT say his form has caught the eye of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Given the growing interest in Mbeumo, Brentford are planning to tie him down until the summer of 2027 but are reportedly open to selling if a club makes an offer in the region of £50m.

Even Brentford boss Thomas Frank has tipped Mbeumo to join a ‘bigger club’ at some stage: ‘He’s added another layer this year,’ he said earlier in the season. ‘I’m convinced one day he’ll play for a bigger club.

‘I’d definitely buy him if I were at a bigger club. That said, he’s very happy here.’

There are some world class players linked with moves to Anfield, but even though Mbeumo is having a good season, he will not be the player that helps replace Salah at LIVERPOOL

SEMENYO WANTED –

Liverpool have been scouting potential replacements for Mohamed Salah and have earmarked Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as possible targets, according to Sky Sports.

Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League for quite some time now and one of the best finishers that Liverpool fans have seen in recent times.

He managed 24-goals for LIVERPOOL last season, but this season he has started the campaign in great fashion and giving everything he possibly can for the Reds in what seems to be his final season at the club.

Salah is one of three key players into the last year of his contract at Anfield alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and manager Arne Slot has admitted the trio “could become a problem” for the Reds.

Salah has been linked with a move to the Middle East in the last year and has one year remaining on his Reds contract. As it stands, he will be free to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

What has happened?

According to reports, Liverpool are now interested in signing Semenyo from the Cherries in the next couple of transfer windows as they continue to be linked with players that could help fill the void of Mohamed Salah.

Semenyo has also emerged as an option and is well known to Liverpool’s new sporting director Richard Hughes as he brought him to former club Bournemouth from Bristol City back in January 2023.

He has been in sparkling form for the Cherries this season and looks like a player that is ready to make that next step up.

There will continue to be alot of transfer speculation regarding the future of Mo Salah and where he will end up, he is certainly a player that Arne Slot will miss once he departs the club.

There are some world class players linked with moves to Anfield, but even though Semenyo is having a good season, he will not be the player that helps replace Salah at LIVERPOOL
