French International has decided he will be jumping on plane to link up with Arteta at Arsenal
It has been claimed that French International William Saliba has made a decision about whether to return back to Arsenal in the summer
Saliba joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019 for £30million after the Arsenal board fought off a number of top clubs to land the services of the talented Frenchman
However, despite all the hype, Saliba has not been able to make any sort of impact at the club and has been sent out on loan for most of his contract with the Premier League giants.
Saliba has enjoyed a productive stay at the Ligue 1 club, however, and there is now a feeling that he is ready to come back to the Emirates to challenge Gabriel and Ben White for that starting spot in the back-line
However, there has also been alot of speculation in the media that he is considering leaving the club and seeking a permanent deal with the French giants, where he is developing very nicely
But according to Team Talk, Saliba plans to stay at Arsenal next season upon his return at the end of the current campaign as he envisages a breakthrough to the first-team.
The news comes after Former Arsenal star Willem Gallas recently claimed that Saliba is good enough to be part of that Gunners squad, Quizzed by GOAL on whether Saliba should be absorbed back into the Arsenal fold this summer, Galllas said: “I think they didn’t give him the opportunities at Arsenal, and I don’t know why. That’s why he moved on loan to Marseille.
“He is doing a good job, that is why they called him into the national team, because he has had a great season with Marseille. If he comes back to Arsenal, he has to be ready to go back and maybe be on the bench at the beginning because at the moment you have got Ben White and Gabriel.
“He has to be ready to accept being on the bench. Mikel Arteta, if he plays with a different system, with three at the back, then he could play with Saliba.
“He has to understand this and be ready, otherwise don’t come back to Arsenal because it will be difficult. Young players now have more opportunities to play, and when you start to play then you want to play every game.
“The problem at some clubs is that it can be difficult.
“Defenders are completely different to strikers, you need to have experience when you play at the back. Saliba is only 21 years old.
“He has played 30 or more games at Marseille, so if he goes back to Arsenal then he would like to play again. Maybe he will be on the bench, and if that happens then he will be upset.”
Arsenal would be foolish to not give Saliba a chance right?
