Gunnar love this! Arsenal have been told they have ‘signed the perfect’ player ahead of summer arrival

Former Gunners star Mathieu Debuchy has claimed that WIlliam Saliba is the perfect signing for Arsenal.

Ex-ARSENAL boss Uani emery was linked with a whole host of players during the summer transfer window, and many fans were excited to see what kind of players that the Spaniard would bring in to make a real statement to the Premier League and rest of the top four challengers.

But despite all the excitement, despite all the rumours and despite all the speculation, the Spaniard failed to acquire the type of players that could come in and make a serious impact on the side, and send a real statement to the rest of the Premier League.

Saliba was signed by the Gunners last summer and immediately sent back to Ligue 1 on a temporary deal until the end of the season, but with the club seeking to improve the back-line this transfer window, rumours have recently suggested Mikel Arteta could have cut the loan short in January and bring him back to the club.

But that move never materialised and although Salliba has missed a large part of the campaign through injury, he impressed on his return against Monaco last week and Debuchy, his current teammate, is confident he will thrive when he eventually begins his Premier League career.

Debuchy told ‘The Official Ligue 1 Podcast’: ‘He’s a great player. I’m so happy for him to play next season for a big club like Arsenal.

‘He improves every game and I think he is a great player. He’s strong with good technique. He’s quick.

‘I think he has a lot of quality to play at Arsenal.’

It was a shock to many to see ARSENAL fight to sign Saliba, but then loan him back to the French club as he was not ready to make the impact at the club. But with the Gunners struggling at the back, they need all the help they can, and maybe Saliba could have been an upgrade on the current defenders.
