Man United told to wrap up Sancho deal, Winter break perfect for new Man United signing, World Class defender announces interest in Premier League move
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews.com
Dimitar Berbatov has told Manchester United club to make the £100million signing of Jadon Sancho their top priority this summer.
United were expected to delve into their transfer kitty over the January window and bring in a few statement signings that would make an impact on the side, and give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that extra push they need to get back inside the top four by the end of the season.
However, United could not get a deal done for Sancho as Borussia Dortmund did not want to sell their best player half way through the season, and in the end, United failed to make the kind of signings that they needed to improve the side enough.
But United are expected to resume their interest in the summer and will reportedly pay up to £100million for his signature, especially after seeing the young man become the youngest player in the Bundesliga to score 25-goals earlier this season.
However, £100m might not be enough with former footballer Jan Aage Fjortoft claiming Dortmund want closer to £126m., with reports suggesting that Dortmund believe that asking price will rise over the next few months as interest continues to gather.
But former United favourite Berbatov believes Snacho will be a key part if the England player is recruited to line up alongside Marcus Rashford.
“I think Jadon is really developing well in Germany and he is still very young,” Berba told Betfair.
“The progress he has made over there has been unbelievable and hopefully he has his reasons for deciding to leave.
“Is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going to sign him for Manchester United? Why not?
“Coming from my time there, I would like to see him go to Old Trafford.
“Of course, it will make them more powerful, it will give them more speed than what they already have, but the question is where will he play?”
Sancho is a brilliantly gifted midfielder that does have all the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the game, and for that £100 million valuation on his head, it could be a great investment from the Blues.
Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna believes the winter break was ideal for new star Bruno Fernandes to ingratiate himself with the squad.
United ended months and months of transfer speculation over the January window and managed to secure a £46.6million deal to bring in the impressive Fernandes, who quickly became one of the most sought after players after an amazing season last year in the Portuguese League.
United are now back home after their winter ahead of Monday’s massive clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and McKenna has opened up and admitted that he believes thed winter break was a great way for Fernandes to build a relationship with his new team-mates, telling the United website: “The break was a great chance for lads like him to come into the group and get to know the players better.
“As I say, it is a credit to him for coming in, putting his hand up straightaway and saying he wanted to go into the team for Wolves. It was a really positive start for him. It is the same process as all of the players.
“It is trying to find the right balance, playing in positions where they can complement each other, building relationships all over the pitch, so that players understand each other’s games, where to pass and what runs different players make.
“That is part of the process with him this week.
“Thankfully, he is an experienced player, he has played in a lot of different positions and roles, so he is very versatile in that way, so it is obviously the manager’s job and us as staff to find ways to make him settle into the team quickly.
“That is the same for all of the players really. It is a good chance to get some work in, work as a team, on patterns and some movements off the ball as well that will really bring out the best strengths in the individuals.”
“United paid £89million for Pogba, so they’ll certainly want that back, so you’d probably says he’s worth up to £100m. Ramsey would be worth £50m or 60m.”
Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has dropped a transfer hint, amid speculation that Manchester United are lining up a big summer move to try and complete a deal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown.
And one area of concern for the Gunners is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Solskjaer is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Alaba, who is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the game right now.
Alaba has 18 months left on his current deal with the German giants, but there has been a few issues with his contract talks and speculation has risen over the past few months that he is seeking a way out of the club after ten years of service with Bayer.
And with the transfer window still a few months away, Alaba has spoken about a possible move to the Premier League, and has also admitted that he can imagine himself playing somehwere else other than the Bundesliga, telling THE TIMES: “We’ll see,”
“I know the Premier League very well because I followed it a lot when I was younger.
“I supported Arsenal. Patrick Vieira was one of my favourite players. At the moment I don’t think too much about it, but I can imagine playing somewhere else.”
United will surely be making some serious transfer moves during the summer transfer window and trying to improve this squad enough to close that gap to Manchester City and Liverpool, who are the two dominant sides in the Premier League right now.
Alaba will not come cheap if United do decide to make the move, but to try and sign him for £60 million would be a great bit of business by the club as he is only 27, is one of the best and still has many years left at the top of the game.
