Chelsea release statement, Koulibaly claim made, Chilwell talks in progress, Havertz deal pretty soon, Sancho rumours addresses in Chelsea roundup…

Chelsea remain locked in talks over a swoop for Leicester City ace Ben Chilwell, according to Fabrizio Romano

Chilwell has had another stellar season over at Leicester this season and has firmly become one of the best left-backs in Europe, which has led to reports in the media suggesting that Chelsea are keen on a deal.

Brendan Rodgers has previously stated that the Foxes have no intention on cashing in on their star left-back this summer, and have no need too over the next ten weeks of the summer transfer window.

However, Chelsea’s hopes of signing him will be handed a further boost this week after Leicester failed to qualify for that Champions League place and now Fabrizio Romano has given the Chelsea fans an update on the possible deal.

When asked by a Twitter follower for the latest news about Chilwell, Romano replied: “Still in talks as Chelsea first choice. Still no agreement.”

There is so much speculation surrounding a possible Chelsea deal, but the Blues fans will soon get their answer as the transfer window is now open and all the deals that could happen, may happen for the club.

Chilwell is definitely a player that would shine at Chelsea, and is ready for a move like Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said the Bundesliga club would be happy for Jadon Sancho to stay as Chelsea are keen on a deal.

There has been so much transfer speculation in the media about the future of Sancho that Chelsea fans do not know what to believe, and whether or not their club will actually make a transfer move.

With 17 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga this season, Sancho is already considered to be one of the finest talents in European football, and that is why the likes of Chelsea have been so keen to try and wrap up a deal.

Nobody knows if he will actually make it back to the Premier League this summer, but The Borussia Dortmund star has been questioned over the speculation surrounding his future, and he has failed to rule out a possible move to the Premier League

Now Zorc has addressed the rumours regarding Sancho on Thursday, saying: “Jadon is an outstanding footballer with a quota that I have never seen at this age.

“I think it would even stand up to being one of the largest in the industry if you look at its age.

“I would be happy if he would still play with us this season. And that’s the current state of affairs.

“First of all we have to stick to the facts – and they are so, that we still have a contract with him until 2022.”

Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen “pretty soon”, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The Blues are determined to make the Germany international their third signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, but are being delayed because of the asking price for the German.

But despite the delay, Solkehol has claimed that a Chelsea deal for Havertz should be announced pretty soon, saying that Chelsea may be able to pull off a transfer deal in the region of £70 million.

“Well, I think this deal is definitely looking like it’s going to happen pretty soon,” Solhekol told the Premier League Review.

“The state of play is that Chelsea want to sign him, he wants to move to Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen will sell him this summer simply because he’s got two years left on his contract and he’s not going to be signing a new deal so this is the time they’re going to get the biggest transfer fee for him.

“Bayer Leverkusen want €100m which is about £90m. I don’t think Chelsea are going to stretch as far as that, we think they’re going to do a deal probably for something like £70m but everything is pointing to the fact this deal is going to be done pretty soon.”

Ally McCoist claims that the likes of Chelsea should be looking to sign up Kalidou Koulibaly this summer transfer window.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is still hoping to spend some serious money in the coming months of the transfer window and add to his very exciting squad as he looks to push on and challenge for that Premier League title.

And Koulibaly has been a player that has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with reports suggesting that Napoli will allow him to depart the club if the £90 million asking price is met by October.

And McCoist has claimed the likes of Chelsea be chasing Koulibaly’s signature, saying he can make an impact similar to the one Virgil van Dijk made when the Dutchman signed for Liverpool in 2018.

“The key signing for Liverpool was Van Dijk, and I think [that position] is so important for a number of top clubs,” the Rangers legend said on the talkSPORT Breakfast.

“In that I include Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City definitely need to strengthen in the centre-back position and I also think Manchester United need to strengthen there.

“I think Harry Maguire has done fine, but there’s a question mark over Lindelof and you certainly need strength in depth.

“The name I keep going back to is the lad Koulibaly at Napoli, who has impressed for a long, long time now.

‘I don’t know whether there have been moves to try and get him out of Napoli, or whether he’s happy there, the big Senegalese defender.

“But I think he is the one target a lot of top Premier League clubs would and should be looking at.”

Look, Chelsea do need to improve this defence and if they are able to acquire the services of Koulibaly, then he would be an amazing signing for the club, if they were able to get a deal done.
