Suarez sends Chelsea message to ‘incredible’ Blues star, Lampard should sign 27-goal hitman, £100m winger makes transfer decision (Video)
Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news from icfootballnews.com
Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has hailed Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham ‘as incredible’
Despite a few critical performances from Abraham at the beginning of the season, the Blues hitman has repaid the faith in him by Lampard by becoming the top scorer at Chelsea with an impressive 11 goals in just 20 appearances this season.
His form up top, along with his ability to run the defenders and hold play up, has helped Chelsea become a very exciting side to watch this season, with many now tipping the Blues to get back inside the top four and gain Champions League football for next season.
And Suarez, who scored 82 goals in 133 games for Liverpool before helping Barcelona win four La Liga titles, has heaped praise on Abraham and described the striker as ‘incredible’.
‘There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,’ Suarez TOLD ONE FOOTBALL. ‘Personally, I have certain number of young and old strikers that I like to see them because of their skills.
‘For example, I like Tammy Abraham, Chelsea’s No 9. In my opinion he is an incredible striker with a good finishing and who moves incredible despite of his youth.
‘Another one is Maxi Gómez and not only because he is from Uruguay, but also because he has a lot of characteristics and skills which are the ones that big teams are looking for in one striker. Obviously, Lautaro Martínez is playing at high level this season too.’
Chelsea should make a move for Manchester United target Erling Haaland in January.
United managed to sell powerhouse striker Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window after months of speculation, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to delve into his transfer kitty to add an adequate forward to the front-line and lead the attack.
But there has been some rumours in the media over the last few weeks which have suggested that Solskjaer may be given some funds in the coming transfer window to add a striker to his front-line, with Haaland reportedly high up on the shopping list.
Haaland scored the final goal of the game as Red Bull Salzburg beat Genk 4-1 in Belgium on Wednesday night n the Champions League and in the process became the first teenager in the history of the Champions League to score in five straight appearances in the competition.
His finish against Genk takes his season tally to 27 goals in just 19 games, during which he has also managed to notch up five hat-tricks, and United fans are desperate for United to make a move and sign him for that £75 million.
But there is also talk that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may be able to delve into his transfer kitty and make a few signings for himself, with another striker on the shopping list for the club hero.
They may have the brilliant TAMMY ABRAHAM, who has netted 11 goals in 20 appearances this season, but Olivier Giroud is tipped to leave, while Michy Batshuayi just makes up the numbers, meaning that Lampard will be short up top.
Chelsea have been linked with some big time strikers, but if they want to keep adding to this very young, exciting side, then the signing of Haaland could be a great move. He has the ability to score, has the power to lead the Blues attack and is young enough to be a perfect long-term partner for Abraham.
Reports have claimed that Chelsea target Jadon Sancho has made a January transfer decision.
The 19-year-old England international, who left Manchester City to join the Bundesliga outfit in 2017, emerged as a top summer target for Chelsea, but Dortmund refused to sell and Chelsea were unable to make a firm offer as they were suspended from doing any deals.
But recent reports from Germany have handed the likes of Chelsea a massive boost in the chase to try and sign up the young Englishman, as Dortmund have identified Hertha winger Javairo Dilrosun and Valencia’s Ferran Torres as possible replacements for the creative force.
They also claim that Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund and the German club will use the £130m fee Barcelona paid for Ousmane Dembele as a benchmark figure for the England international. And it seems that a decision has been made as the winger and his entourage have made a transfer decision.
