Sarri has Hazard announcement with massive £350,000-a-week Chelsea contract offer on table?
Maurizio Sarri is not expecting a decision from Eden Hazard over whether to extend his contract at Chelsea this season.
Hazard was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer and only stayed after Sarri convinced him that Stamford Bridge was the best place for his future, as he wanted to keep hold of his best players.
However, Hazard has admitted on a number of occasions this season that he is very interested in a move to the Bernabeu at the end of the season, with all indications suggesting Madrid are prepared to make a big time offer to try and prise him away.
And with talk that Hazard does not want to sign the massive £350,000-a-week contract Chelsea have supposedly offered, Sarri has given Chelsea fans an update on the situation involving the Belgian.
The 60-year-old said on thye Sky Sports website: “He’s not decided yet if he wants to stay here or if he wants a new experience in another club. I don’t know exactly the situation, but I think Eden at the moment doesn’t know the final choice.”
Sarri added: “Sometimes. I prefer him when he speaks with his feet.
“I think he said that coaches told him that he needs to do more. I think thathe has to do more, because the potential is higher than the performances, I think.
“He has to respect, first of all, himself. He has to do more.”
Could Hazard stay at Chelsea?
Hazard loves Chelsea and could stay if they can prove to him that it will be worth it, but if Madrid do come calling then it will be very difficult for him to turn down a move, especially since it is his dream to move to La Liga.
Chelsea will miss Hazard if he leaves, but with a few signings, his departure will soon be forgotten, much like Thibaut Courtois’s move to La Liga over the summer.
