Offer submitted! Sarri told to sign perfect £45 million signing Lozano for Chelsea this January
Journalist Dominic Fifield has claimed Hirving Lozano is just the type of player that Chelsea need in the squad right now.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Mexican star over the past few months after being impressed with his performances during the summer, and with speculation Eden Hazard could leave at the end of the season, reports have claimed the Blues have submitted an offer for the star.
It comes after Chelsea announced that they have agreed a deal to bring Christian Pulisic to London at the end of the season in a deal worth around £58 million.
And Fifield has claimed that Lozano is just the type of player that Chelsea need, as they need younger, fresher wingers.
On the Football Writers podcast, Fifieid said: “Lozano to Chelsea? Well they do need wingers, I mean Pedro and Willian, they’re in their 30s and contracts expire in 2020, I believe.
“(Callum) Hudson-Odoi is obviously 2020 as well and is likely to leave sooner rather than later.
“But whether those guys are able to play the style that Sarri wants them to, no-one knows.”
Would Lozano be a good signing for Chelsea.
Moving from PSV to Chelsea would be a massive step up for Lozano as the Premier League is at a much higher standard than the Dutch League, but for the right price he could be an immediate replacement for Willian or Pedro.
He has proven he has the creative and goal-scoring ability that Sarri likes to have in the squad, and although he would need time to adjust, he could be a very solid buy for the right price.
However, a winger is not needed rigth now and Sarri should focus on landing a striker or defender this month, as that is what Chelsea need.
