Sensational Manager Twist as Former Chelsea Boss Offered Big Money to replace Pochettino
Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is ready to replace Mauricio Pochettino this summer, with reports claiming he could bring Antonio Conte back to the club
CHELSEA have won just 13 of 32 Premier League matches this season. They sit ninth on 48 points but have games in hand on the teams around them as they seek to clinch at least a Europa Conference League spot
However – there has been alot of speculation in the media that Mauricio Pochettino will probably get the sack at the end of the season after failing to impress and get the results that the club had hoped for this season.
According to Italian outlet La Repubblica, Boehly is ‘dreaming big’ ahead of the summer and wants to make a statement with his next managerial capture.
The reports adds that the American billionaire is ready to ‘do everything’ to convince Conte on a stunning return to West London. And Chelsea officials have supposedly made contact with Conte’s entourage to find out whether he would be open to such a move.
The news comes after Gary Neville opened up and encouraged CHELSEA to keep hold of Mauricio Pochettino in the summer: ‘Definitely, I think he’s absolutely the right man to work with young players.
‘We’ve seen what we he did at Southampton, bringing players through, developing them. We saw what he did here [at Tottenham] with players.
‘It’s interesting, he came up with a really good statement the other night after the Arsenal game, ‘when we’re bad we’re really bad’, I mean, they are shocking when they’re bad.
‘But do you know something – their good is good, and you can see the clear deficiencies obviously at both ends of the pitch, particularly at the top end of the pitch.
‘I wouldn’t mess with Mauricio Pochettino at all, I think Mauricio Pochettino definitely deserves another transfer window, I think he definitely deserves the idea of completing the jigsaw of the three positions everyone knows are missing.
‘I think when he’s got those three players in, maybe four because you need two strikers, I think at that point then we’ll judge Mauricio Pochettino.
‘I think it’s far too early and the reason I say that is I think their performance levels, at times, are very, very good. They hit a good level.’
